Passed part 1 so it must've worked. These cards are not to memorize but they are thorough. Part 1 is a comprehensive 6-part basic sciences: General Pathology, Microbiology, Gross Anatomy, Spinal Anatomy, Biochem, and Physiology. Anyway, passed the exam using class notes, USMLE review texts, and these note cards. Don't try to memorize everything on the note cards - there is too much. Just get the basic concepts, read through the cards several times and you'll be fine. By the way, to get an accurate amount of time you need to study for part 1, try to guesstimate the time you think you will need and multiply by 3.

My girlfriend used these cards and passed part 1 the first time! She stated that there is a lot of info on these cards, and these flashcards are meant to remind yourself or to refresh your memory on what is possibly on the test. Even though you may know what the topics are about, there are several instances where you learn more detailed information than what you thought you knew. Also great for when you have down time and don't want to carry your books around. These are not meant to teach you every subject from scratch, again these give brief overview summaries.

I was not impressed with the item. It stated it would help break down questions and teach you how to answer them on the test. Not true. It is just a bunch of flashcards I could've done myself but better. The cards for a flashcard have too much info on them. The reason for flashcards is to memorize key points or terms not memorize 1-5 paragraphs. It was a waste of $74 that I really didnt have to begin with.
