Whether this book is helpful or not will depend on what you want out of it. For me it was very helpful for two reasons. First, NCAA 2012 contains no manual this year. The book does. It lists all the button features and how to use them. I shows you how to slide protect your line, QB spy, hot route offense and defense, etc. So, unless you are a veteran player who has memorized all of these features, the book helps out big time. Second, the book lists the player rating for every player on every team and highlights the playmakers in yellow. How does this help? It helps me online. I can use the book to quickly look up my opponents team and see who his or her playmakers are. Then I can focus on those players by double teaming or using other techniques. Otherwise, I would have to wait until my opponent unloads his first long bomb to see who his go to receiver is. Many online players rely on 4 or 5 plays over and over to the same players. With the book's ratings you can often know who is going to get the ball even before the snap. So, for me the manual and the ratings are worth the price. There are also alot of basic tips about offense and defense, but these are really more for someone new to the game. The book does not contain advanced techniques, glitches or nanos, but, overall, I would say buy the book.
