This game has the combination of the conventional football simulation and the exaggerated gameplay of "NFL Blitz" and "NFL Extreme." It's fun. I thought my football cravings were satiated with GameDay 99, but upon playing Gamebreakers 99 I doubt if I'll play the former as much. For instance, when running a triple option to the outside, a DB will come off of his man and fly in from the side of the screen and tattoo the QB before you have a chance to make him execute the pitch. This sequence occurs so quickly that I haven't been able to react to it yet. Also, a hit from a defender like this will send you flying five yards in the opposite direction. You'll also be impressed with the graphics, especially Univ. of Michigan's helmet. The games I play consist of my selected team at Michigan's "Big House" - this is always a tough game. Amazingly, the game also captures the realism of a college game by shifting momentum one way or the other like a runaway train. Therefore, blowouts result from costly turnovers or special teams pinning opposing offenses deep in their territory. Of the football games I've played, this is the only one that I've been able to return a punt, kickoff, fumbles, and INTs. Also, I've blocked punts, field goals, and PATs. College football is about big plays that blow the game wide open, and Gamebreakers 99 accurately depicts this. Ever wonder how the great teams of the past would do against each other? You can get an idea by playing a steamroller team from one decade against one from another decade - the '97 Cornhuskers and the '85 Sooners. How about co-national champs against each other? The AP's '90 Colorado squad vs. UPI's '90 Georgia Tech. Good stuff.

First, this game is fun. so many teams ao many modes. ranking acurate and bowls are very fun so is multi-player. But there is a bad part, stats r poorly organized if a db makes a tackle on a 10 yard run then rb gets the stat but not the db who makes the tackle. There is all kinds of little things like that that makes this game 3 stars. But overall the game is super fun when you play it and you probaly wont notice the other problems but anyway this is a good game.
