This review is from: NCAA March Madness 06 (Video Game)
As a huge sports fan, you might imagine that I'd search pretty high and low for the perfect sports game to enjoy.

I really wanted to like this EA Product but both the 2005 and 2006 versions of this game just didn't quite have the feel of their 2K counterparts. Now if your talking NHL or NCAA Football, EA win's hands down. Kind of funny how 1 company can make one sport so well but fall short on another.

The particular areas that I didn't enjoy were mostly around the coaching management and recruiting. With 2K sports you get to increase your coaching attributes based on how you progress during seasons and you can start out by getting offers from small schools. It's kind of like your recruited to start the game and as you improve, you move up the NCAA chain. EA 2006 just didn't have that feel.

For me the other aspect that I didn't particularly like was the game play but I have been told its similar to their NBA product which I have never played. Perhaps that's true and if so, I can totally understand trying to keep the games similar. It's just not right for me.

Overall it wasn't a bad product but after 2 failed attempts at replacing the 2k series with the EA counterpart, I'll stick to the 2K version and recommend that you do so as well.

Happy recruiting and I'll see you in the National Championship!
