One shining moment. Ok, this isn't that, this is more like One Glaring Flaw. IT'S LAST YEARS GAME!! EA duped me again, recreating last years game and putting it into an updated packaging. Honestly, i thought that i was geting a totally redesigned and updated game when i put out 60+ for it, but instead i was left with reheated pizza. why you ask? simple, for one- the only things that were updated were really recruiting and the front options menus for dynasty mode, which now both resembles NCAA Football. After that, and the addition of a few more CONFERENCE teams (that means independents were left out once again this year), this is what i already own. the game looks better on the court, and they added a post play, but the Alumi challenges are the same, as well as the training sessions, schedule builder, heck, everything. Even end of the year with recruiting and what not is identical to last years. honestly, i felt cheated, and i was VERY angry that i bought this game. If they were going to just reheat it, why charge me that much for it. i would go more into what's wrong, but i'm not going to cheat the consumer. put it like this, if you have last years version, do NOT waste your money. Trust me.

I usually choose the 2K8 version of the college game, but after playing both I bought March Madness 08. Most reviewers' complaints center on how slow the game plays, lack of rebounds or no mid range success. In the user settings all of these issues can be adjusted to a user's specific skill to recreate a fairly accurate simulation of a college basketball game. The player movement is not as fluid as one would like, but its an improvement form previous EA versions. The dynamic low post play is fun along with simplicity of playing the game. With 2K the game management and coaching options have become to complicated, especially the dynasty mode. EA's dynasty mode is not as sophisticated, but allows you to play games because you don't get caught-up in team management. My biggest complaint with 2K is the menu design and out of game look of the product is low rent; also the crowd is less than convincing for a XBOX 360 game. In the end EA can't put the resources behind March Madness' becasue of its market value in their product line, especially compared with the Madden and College Football games. Next year their will be only one choice for a college hoop game, EA bought the exclusive rights to license the NCAA game. Save yourself $10 and go with March Madness.

The new college game from EA Sports is decent at best. They have its ups and downs. What I did like about this game was that the graphics were great. The courts look almost real. The commentating by Brad Nessler and Dick Vitale is good. But the gameplay is three star. The game is slow. Mid range jump shots barely go in. The post is impossible to maneuver in your favor, like if you try a spin move it will most likely never work. Boxing a defender to the basket is bad. After two seconds the defender will fall on his butt and an offensive foul will be called about 75 percent of the time. When you're on defense the CPU will dominate the post one on one. They will take fade away jumpers and they will go in. So how I attempt to stop them dominating the post is bringing one of my guards in for a double team which works fifty percent of the time. Then the center dishes it out to one of the guards to put up a three which usually goes in. Rebounding is difficult because of a user is going up for a rebound the CPU will come and snatch it. Overall this is a decent game by the EA crew but it can fix some of the problems in the gameplay.
