In its strong third season, NCIS-Los Angeles continues to capitalize on its excellent cast, as the NCIS LA-based Office of Special Projects conducts undercover operations against terrorists, spies, arms-dealers, transnational criminals and other threats to the Department of the Navy.

Linda Hunt returns as diminutive and mysterious Operations Manager Hetty Lange, who continues to overawe the agents each week. The original superb buddy team of Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J as agents G. Callen and Sam Hanna is joined by a second field team, consisting of Agent Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and LAPD detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), who are still working on their often hilarious love-hate relationship. Computer geeks Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) and Nell Jones (Renee Smith) form a third team. The mysterious Nell seems to have an additional hush-hush role as cat's paw for Hetty, and will materialize on at least one mission brandishing a firearm with unexpected skill.

The season opens with the thrilling conclusion to last season's cliffhanger, which had the team on an unauthorized rescue mission in Romania. The four field agents will attempt to storm a criminal gang's headquarters to rescue Hetty. In the process, they will have to cope with the manipulations of secretive acting Operations Manager Lauren Hunter (Claire Forlani in a recurring role), who seems to have her own agenda. The fallout of the mission will include, at long last, some shocking insights into the unknown past of Agent Callen, including unsuspected ties to Hetty. An extended story arc in mid-season will feature a visitation by a sinster assistant director from headquarters, whose purpose will only slowly be revealed, and it won't be good for the team, especially Kensi. An extended season-ending cliffhanger matches the team against a clever chess-playing villain (and blast from the past) who leaves the team in desperate disarray.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" is highly recommended to NCIS fans as a lighter and hipper version of the original show. It offers its own exciting weekly storylines. Its fun emphasis on character interaction will include Kensi's poorly-hidden jealousy over Deeks' relationship with an attractive female Mexican police officer, Sam's hunt for his missing and highly-prized personal classic car, or Nell tempting Eric to "break the internet."

NCIS is a great crime-drama series that centers around the Office of Special Projects and in season three, the show really hits its stride! The OSP is a clandestine division of NCIS and is located in Los Angeles, California. They go deep undercover to capture criminals that are threatening national security. The series stars Chris O'Donnell as Special Agent "G. Callen" and LL Cool J as Special Agent "Sam Hanna". Here's what we have to look forward to in this third season installment:

The episode list will be as follows:

1. LANGE, H. - The field team travels to the Romanian Black Sea coast, where Callen recognizes his childhood roots. They hope to find and rescue Hetty by surprise, but are awaited by the hostile gypsey crime gang Comescue.
2. CYBER THREAT - Dennis Calder, who's software was used for a cyber attack against the Department of Defense, has been kidnapped and his driver shot.
3. BACKSTOPPED - Special Agent Sam Hanna is sent undercover as a bomb specialist as the team races to locate stolen explosives somewhere in the city.
4. DEADLINE - The NCIS team delves into the underground world of the Libyan resistance movement following the murder of a news reporter, and Hetty reveals details about Callen's past.
5. SACRIFICE - The LAPD calls upon the NCIS team when a raid links a Mexican drug cartel to a wanted terrorist.
6. LONE WOLF - The NCIS team investigates the murder of a former Navy intelligence officer who had been living a double life and traveling overseas on false passports.
7. HONOR - The NCIS team must determine whether a dishonerably discharged Marine is the target of an international set-up or if he committed murder.
8. GREED - When a Navy ID is found on a dead body tied to a hazardous material smuggling case, NCIS is granted permission to investigate in Mexico and asked to help locate the missing materials.
9. BETRAYAL - After Sam's undercover mission in Sudan turns deadly, Callen and the NCIS team must track down their missing agent before it is too late.
10. THE DEBT - A botched assignment forces Hetty to fire Deeks and send him back to the LAPD.

13. EXIT STRATEGY - When a vehicle transporting Jada Khaled is ambushed, NCIS must track down the culprit to save her and their case.
14. PARTNERS - A diplomatic shipment is hijacked from two state department couriers on Callen and Hanna's five year anniversary.
15. CRIMELEON - With Assistant Director Granger critiquing every move, the NCIS team must track down a chameleon-like killer who has evaded law enforcement agents, including their very own Special Agent G. Callen.
16. BLYE, K. (PART 1) - The Team searches for new evidence to prove Kensi Blye's innocence after she is taken into custody as the lead suspect in a murder investigation involving her deceased father's sniper unit.
17. BLYE, K. (PART 2) - The team continues to search for new evidence to prove Kensi Blye's innocence after a private meeting involving her deceased father's sniper unit turns deadly.
18. THE DRAGON AND THE FAIRY - The Navy secretary is invited to an Asian conference in the L.A. Vietnamese consulate, which recently suffered attempted arson. Poor tailor Tuan Nguyan is shot from a driving car while trying to enter.
19. VENGEANCE - Navy SEAL officer Third Class Doug Foster's corpse is found on a base practice course, probably meant to have the fatal blows covered up by artillery practice.
20. PATRIOT ACTS - NCIS feels passed-over when the FBI arrests honorably discharged Afghanistan veteran Gavin Knowles after finding a chemical bomb in his car.
21. TOUCH OF DEATH - Sam and Callen continue their pursuit of a man carrying a deadly virus with assistance from Danny Williams and Chin Ho Kelly of the Hawaii Five-0 unit.
22. NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH - Kensi and Deeks head to the suburbs as a married couple for an undercover operation.
23. SANS VOIR (PART 1) - The team tries to capture their nemesis, The Chameleon.
24. SANS VOIR (PART 2) - The conclusion of the two - part episode "San Voir"

So as much as I love the show, I have to give this set a 1 star review. I got two different versions of this set 1 from amazon and 1 from Best Buy. Both sets the video quality was absolutely awful. You could see pixels everywhere, and the colors were over-saturated. Poor LL Cool J looked like a red muppet version of himself. I don't understand what happened here. I own all of the NCIS seasons and the first 2 NCIS: LA seasons and have never had an issues. I tested both of these sets on 2 different tv's 2 different bluray playeers and a dvd player, all with the same issue. And have no other issues with any other dvd I try. Was very disappointed. I have also noticed that Best Buy no longer carries this set and cannot order it. They checked when I returned my copy. It is also not available at Wal-Mart or Target either. Which leaves me to believe that they have found this defect as well and will not carry it. So potential buyers beware. For now I will have a hole in my collection while I wait for a good release of this set
