The graphics are quite choppy but that's typical for a game like this. There are only 4 cases to solve in the game and it only takes an afternoon to finish it. That's not to say that it's not enjoyable but don't expect several days worth of gaming from this. The only two actors from the show who lent their voices to this game were David McCallum as Ducky and Robert Wagner (who has only been on the show a couple of times) as Anthony DiNozzo Sr., which gets annoying because you tend to want the game's characters to sound like the show's.

All that being said, I wish I had waited until the game had been out for some time and the price had dropped to purchase it. Not really worth almost $30 for it.

Let me start by saying I'm not really a gamer. I'm sorry I paid $30 for this one. I love the show, but the game falls short. This sounds really minor, but I couldn't get past McGee's skin tone. He looks like a walking corpse--though I guess it fits the theme of the show. The game doesn't take much thought to point and click through and I finished it in about 4 hours (over a couple of days). Now what?

Note: I didn't actually buy this through Amazon, but through Ubisoft directly. Being a big fan of both NCIS and these types of games (have played most of the CSI games and the like), I was pretty stoked for this game. Turned out that my video card wasn't up to snuff for it, though, so we ended up buying both a new video card and a power supply that could handle it.

A few things were cool. The graphics are decent and the story lines are similar to something you'd see on the series. All the main characters are there, and you get to play a bit as each of them.

That being said, I was disappointed in a few things.

The first is that while the CHARACTERS are all there, the ACTORS are not. Gibbs and Ziva are probably the most noticeably off. The only one I know for sure is legit is Ducky.

Unlike similar games, you don't really do much in the way of collecting evidence, you just take a lot of pictures and somehow that gets the evidence back to Abby.

A lot of the animations are repeated (like, every time you see McGee, it's the same shot/action). I understand that it's easier to reuse what already exists, but still...

And my least favorite part: I'm already done with the game. There are only 4 "episodes" to play. I started on a Friday and was done by the following Tuesday. I played probably about an hour each day on average... Maybe 2 hours on one of the days.

I enjoyed playing, but had I known these things, I probably would've waited for it to come down in price before buying.

Really bad movements, CSI is definitely better. I wasted my money, won't do that again, I'll listen to reviewers! Do better w/next one, if there is one.

I am a big fan of the CSI games, although since Hard Evidence they are really just repeating the same format over and over so I was quite excited to see that this year they switched to the NCIS franchise. Unfortunately the dumbing down that has crept into the CSI games really affects the play value of NCIS.

There really isn't anything in the forensic side of the game that you need to figure out for yourself, gathering all of the evidence is the only tricky thing as some clues are well hidden. Essentially the game just tells you how to solve every problem and it just degenerates into clicking through each sequence to move the plot along, you barely feel like its an interactive experience.

It also gets repetitive with the same cut scenes every time McGee needs to use the computer or Abby works in the Lab.

Theres just not enough gameplay in this to justify the price, its barely more advanced than a hidden object mystery and I only gave it 3 stars for 'Fun' because initially it is kind of cool working with the characters and wondering how the story will unfold. Ultimately though its a 2 star game because of the lack of effort required to actually solve any of the puzzles.

One last thing, David McCallum puts in probably the worst acting performance ever in a video game..seriously somebody off the street could have done a better job, its so mannered and unprofessional.

First, I'm gonna say, that I'm upset that all of the voices weren't the real actors voices (only 2 of them lent their voices). Second, do NOT purchase this game to play on your laptop, UNLESS you have a separate mouse to use. The game will NOT work with your touch pad to scroll (like you can when you're online). And the options menu doesn't give you an opportunity to use certain keys for scrolling (for when you don't have an actual separate mouse). However, even though there aren't a lot of cases to solve (like there are in all the csi games), the graphics are good, and it was kind of fun. Oh, and the price shouldn't have been the price it is, considering the problems that everyone has with this game. Well, if you STILL want to buy the game and play it, make sure that you have a separate mouse to use, then your main problem will be solved.

My husband is an avid NCIS fan and computer geek. This game feeds both of these passions. He really likes it!
