3.0 out of 5 stars Remaining Loyal To NCIS April 25, 2014
NCIS is my all time favorite show. I even responded "OOOrah" to a man as I got off an elevator last week after hearing him say "Semper Fi" to another man. He grinned and turned to look at me and I said "huge Gibb's fan". He nodded. I'm a grandmother and not a marine so I hope I was not being disrespectful as I meant it with utmost respect. I will buy this season when it is released as I have all the others, but will not pay the price that it costs at this time (my least favorite season). I think the Bishop character is shallow and uninteresting and has no major contribution to the show. Leave all the terrorism plots to NCIS: L.A. Glad the later episodes are starting to feel like the previous seasons. I look forward to a tribute show recognizing Ralph Waite/Jackson Gibbs. I'm sure they are all reeling from Cote's unexpected departure, as we all are. Change happens and "the show must go on", but I hope the NCIS family will find their way back to the quality, chemistry and human interests storylines we all love and look forward to each week. It's patriotism, humor and caring, not only for each other but for the secondary characters, is what we all appreciate (love Gibb's with children and animals). I would like to see Coast Guard Abby as the replacement for Ziva. Even Colonel Hollis Mann would be a better fit than Bishop if Susanna Thompson is available. The actors and behind the scene personnel still do a great job and I will remain a loyal fan forever.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not the quality of past seasons! May 18, 2014
Format:Amazon Instant Video|Verified Purchase
Season 11 was lack-luster when it came to acting. The cast has become more reserved with their characters roles. It sometimes appears they are simply "reading the lines" and depending on the past success of their characters to carry them through the scenes. The lack of acting started at the beginning of Season 11 and has continued through the Season finale. Have the actors gotten tired of the roles or have the writers stopped writing?

3.0 out of 5 stars NCIS February 2, 2014
Have watched the show since the beginning. LOVED it!! Now it is not he same. New girl does not fit. I am not much of a TV watcher, There are only 4 shows that I look forward to watching as they air. Now it doesn't bother me to miss NCIS and watch it on hulu or Amazon later. The action is still there, but team chemistry is way out of whack! I wish they would replace the new girl with one that has personality and an attitude that goes along with the brains she is supposed to have. All of the other characters can stand on their own yet still blend well with the others. She does neither. My rating has gone from a 5 to a 3.

1.0 out of 5 stars wanted: replacement for Ziva April 30, 2014
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
My husband and I were rabid NCIS fans - we have all the NCIS season DVD's, the introduction to NCIS DVD's from JAG episodes, and the NCIS Playfest DVD. Our dog is even named "Gibbs." We were bitterly disappointed with the addition of the ditzy (yet supposedly brilliant) blond, Ellie Bishop. She fits, in no way, with the team. She does a solo act and plays a lone wolf. She is insolent, and is a smart mouth, and based on his past behavior, Gibbs would have fired her long ago. Recognizing the changing scene of crime, all the terrorism plots are understandable, but they're complicated, obscure at best, and seem almost designed for this new character. (And frankly, we can get enough "terrorism" by watching the evening news.) Part of the show's appeal was the fact that all characters were "good guys" who tried to "do the right thing. Ducky's and Abbey's contributions now seem to be irrelevant, and the other characters have faded into the background. Ziva was unique as was Kate. Are they irreplaceable? Surely the writers can formulate a new role and the casting staff fill it with a more appropriate replacement who will blend, not clash, with the show's present chemistry. Perhaps Mark Harmon needs to talk to the people who did the casting for MASH who replaced multiple characters without taking away from the show's symmetry. If something doesn't change, I am afraid that NCIS will be relegated to the dust heap. If they are trying to get rid of Gibbs, then do it. Please don't allow a wonderful series to dribble away, become an empty shell and leave all of its faithful viewers disillusioned and unhappy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bishop Character Has To Go April 15, 2014
I'm not sure why the producers decided that the Bishop character would add anything whatsoever to the program. I cringe every time the camera pans to Bishop's face to register her facial expression/reaction at every twist and turn of the dialog. One episode depicting her as an airhead sitting on the floor going through her "cutesy" antics was more than enough. We already have a lovable, quirky character in Abby ... we don't need a dull, ditsy one like Bishop.

2.0 out of 5 stars No connection with new character/Entire Season January 16, 2014

The team is not the same at all Bishop just doesn't fit. The awesome team dynamic is gone. There's no connection. She's just another character. Kate and Ziva had a real impact on the team.
After all of these years, I have to mark it as a 2.

REVISION: Rate changed to a 2
Actually I don't know if the episodes have a good story line. I haven't watched any more episodes since this review. I won't be watching next season unless they get a new character!

Although I definitely would not recommend this season, I've heard that episode 24. 'Honor Thy Father' is a must see. I haven't seen it yet, but I will soon.
