Our school required we purchase this book. While the book is not too bad....the CD is terrible. There are many mistakes, incomplete sentences/thoughts and can ONLY be used 5 times!! The CD is worthless thus making the purchase price very pricey. I recommend Saunder's Comprehensive review and CD to anyone instead!

Book is grouped into content area which makes it nice if you are weak in one area or know what topics you would like to study. Very easy to follow. Great charts and review sections throughout. As a new graduate from nursing school, I highly recommend this book for anyone taking the HESI or NCLEX. It helped me tremendously.

I feel that this book has helped me tremendously in studying for the NCLEX. The CD is very easy to use on my pc, the questions on the cd are challenging. I specially like the "HESI HINTS" which tell you something super important that you need to know about the topic. At the end of each subject.. for example "cardio" it tells you several straight to the point questions with answers to test your knowledge of VIP material you should know about the topic. I am studying Kaplan right now, and it beats the content book that came with my kaplan book.
It is written very simple and straight to the point what you need to know. In addition, it gives you the meds of each topic, right after you read the topic. It is not like other books that you get the meds towards the end... which to me that is great! THere are no details, just what you "need to know" for the nclex boards!

To prepare for an upcoming HESI exam in nursing school, I decided to try this book to study more effectively. The material covered is well organized, and of good variety, but it is so simplified, that you really have to have an understanding of what you're reading about before you use this book. The questions are not bad, but it would have been more helpful if they were multiple-choice. The NCLEX review test on the CD-ROM can only be used 5 times, an unfair feature. I recommend an NCLEX review and rationale book to study by, but overall, this book works well as a simple and quick review.

I really like this book. We had to take a an exit exam for Nursing school which is provided by Hesi. I used this book along with other NCLEX programs and books and passed the Hesi the first time around!

The Hesi book review sections aren't too bad, but the "review" CD isn't that great. I would recommend the MOSBY'S book for anyone who is looking for practice questions.

this book is a must have for the nursing student. although there is a new one being released in Dec. '07, it is worth the money spent if it helps to pass the first semester of nursing. there are not many questions in the book itself, however the tips and hints alone make it worthwhile. the companion cd is where the nursing student will find questions comparable to the nclex. i will also be purchasing the newer edition when it becomes available.

This is very helpful not only for the HESI but also for the NCLEX and all other test through-out nursing school! CD is not as great as the book....the book is a must have for test!

Overall, this books only OK. I recently took a HESI exam and much of the content was not even covered in the book. Several diseases that the pediatric HESI tested for were completely left out of the book--quite disappointing considering that I actually knew the book's content very well. Also, the book has spelling errors and contradicts itself (e.g., lab values) from one page to the next. Instead, I recommend NSNA's NCLEX review by Alice M. Stein.

I just took the HESI exam and this book isn't worth the price. The CD is terrible. Some of the answers the CD gives you are even wrong,our school provided a HESI review course by the HESI group and the moderator even said some of the rationales were incorrect as did my instructors, and the book itself has several typos. Buy the Kaplan book it is much better.!!!!!
