Exam Cram NCLEX-RN,

This book is the ultimate review book. I have Kapplan as well but this book has the most questions I've found yet.

I didn't really use the book but the CD of questions was horrible. There were typos, I even found incorrect answers. The "explanations" didn't really explain anything, rather they just told you what was right and what was wrong. I do not recommend it at all for preparation.

You can rest assured that this book is invaluable as a study guide for the NCLEX-RN. Having had all three authors as nursing instructors, I must say that any publication by these ladies will be a gem. I also contend that practice questions are the keystone to success in passing the boards. Thanks to the authors for putting together a book of practice questions for test preparation.

EXCELLENT, BUT...,

I bought this book to practice for the NCLEX and it really is good...the only problem is I had bought the previous edition at a much lower price, and bought this one thinking it would be different..they're not only the same, but EXACTLY the same, page by page, question by question...so if you are thinking on buying the best for you money, buy the older edition and you'll be just fine!

I have been reading this book while I am on Christmas break. I will be taking my NCLEX-RN next summer and I don't like to wait until the last minute. Anyway, not having taken the NCLEX yet, my opinion may not be worth much but I have been finding a few typos and wrong explanations/errors for answers to the questions. This makes me doubt the quality and accuracy of the info in this book. I have been very impressed with Kaplan, however, and I don't feel the same way about the accuracy in Kaplan. It's just my opinion since reviewing Exam Cram over the past few days.

Great Review,
This review is from: NCLEX-RN Practice Questions (2nd Edition) (Paperback)
I loved this book and cd pair. This book asked questions in a way that gradually built understanding in all levels for the exam. I took the exam and passed the first time. The cd automatically updates itself when connected to the internet. The only default was the same questions kept appearing on the cd,even if I got them right. This review book was great and preparing the way they suggest works great. The book will get you to break the nclex down easier, but the exam will still pose more difficult questions.

I was disappointed to find the companion CD is not compatible with a Mac. In addition, there are typos and incorrect answers with incorrect rationales.

I think this book is amazing in a sense that the CD Simulated Exam mode is imitated the real NCLEX experience because it will shut off if you hit the passing score. You may want to do the Adaptive Drill Mode practice questions with rationale first before doing the Simulated Exam mode. Although, i found very minimal errors but it doesn't matter because "Perfect book doesn't exist, they are just made by human being". This book really helped me in passing NCLEX-RN on my first attempt.

Great book for nursing students.
I am able to do Nclex questions anywhere any time from my droid smartphone. This book easily allows me to navigate from question to see the answer by clicking the question number. Good rational given for answers. However would be nice if I could complete questions in a test format and have it scored. Overall this is an awesome Nclex preparation aid for on the fly studying. |
