Cut computing costs by sharing the untapped power of existing computers with NComputing's X350 kit. The kit’s half-height PCI card, XD2 access devices, and NComputing vSpaceTM software work together to efficiently harness excess computing capacity and enable multiple users to share a single computer. Each kit adds three users to one computer, so with two kits a total of seven users can simultaneously share one computer.

I wanted to share multiple terminals through one computer and was looking at a server based solution. The high cost was deterring me, so I was asking friends around for a cheaper solution. One suggested this company and X350.

The concept is elegant, one computer, and three additional monitors/keyboards/mice attached and each can have independent sessions.

Some notes:

1. Card needs PCI slot, does not work with PCI Express
2. The Installation software on CD is old. You need to download the latest software from the website ( I learned this the hard way)
3. Can cause conflict with Windows security updates, and takes time for company to release new software version.
4. Does not support Vista 64 bit, works only on 32 bit version ( again found it the hard way)
5. The software is not as robust as it can be, issues still remain, I am working to sort it out.

Having said this, the company claims to have many installations in the world and they probably run fine. If there is an IT guy to look after hardware/software issues, you may be OK. If you have to do it on your own then just be prepared for some frustration during set-up. I am sure there will be cases where things run smoothly, but documentation and compatibility information can definitely be better.

Would I do it again- yes, given the cost savings. Will I add more cards- yes, to expand the current system. Now that I know some pitfalls, I will be more careful next time.

This ncomputing x350 is great i am using it from 1 year an works fine just for first install you need to configure the windows appareance and leave all the ' unselected. just give a select to the windows apareance and will work much better.

i am using an Athlon II x3 3ghz cpu with 3gb of ram and windows xp due to i have been some bad experiences on windows 7 and i have no chance to try.

i also use core 2 duo 2.93ghz cpu with 3gb of ram works fine too.

before i was using 2 gb of ram and i have spected some slow

i use them for acces on a public internet.

easy to configure for the usb ports redirect for me

These may work well for some installations, but if you have more then a 5 meters of cat5 cable, they will not come up at all. cat 6 I got about 26 ft. please read the installation and cabling instructions at the website and be sure it will work in your environment. it could save money, or add frustration. Unfortunately for me it was a deal breaker.
