Complaining about ordering versus just paying the monthly fee is missing the point of part of the purpose of these cards. We have a friend who, because of financial constraints, can't currently afford to foot the bill for City of Heroes, which he used to play. A few of us who do play are looking to purchase at least 6 months of game time for him for the holidays, and this is a great way to help him participate in a hobby he loves.

The cards work and a great way to continue to play a fun game without providing a credit card number to another online vendor.
I should point out for those who have never played that City of Heroes is a fun and entertaining way to spend countless hours. However, like with most online MMORPGs there is always the issue of becoming to dependant on the game. Unlike other games (WoW) there are endless methods of personalizing your character (in this case called toons). The game is kid friendly and most the people I have met on the game seem to be genuinely polite. If you are looking for a summary of the good and bad points please look below. GOOD 1. The card allows people to purchase additional time as gifts and then hand the recipient something a little fancier than a printed out piece of paper. 2. The time cards are more secure than storing a credit card on file for months or years on end. 3. The time cards work just as well as a credit card and the time is credited instantaneously. 4. The game is entertaining and fun. BAD 1. The cards do take two or three days to arrive, whereas a credit card on the City of Heroes website allows for time to added instantly. (Very bad if you are already out of time) 2. The cards are basically the size of a credit card but the arrive in a package the size of DVD container. Very eco-unfriendly! 3. There isn't any real savings (unless there is a sale) for purchasing the cards. 4. You are instructed to keep the card(s) in case you have future technical issues. This doesn't seem feasible if you receive five or six at a time (say for a birthday or Christmas present).

Well, City of Heroes has sucked me in far enough for me to go VIP for at least a few months. I had trouble getting a credit card payment to go through their subscription service and ended up looking here. The sticker price on a 60-day subscription is $29.98, so if you're an Amazon Prime member like me, this is a really nice deal with free shipping. I just have to remember to order the card in advance of my subscription running out, which I don't imagine should be a problem. As noted previously, though, the whole plastic case packaging is ridiculous. This should really just be folded up inside a piece of cardboard; they can make it DVD-sized if they really want to. At least the case is labeled as #5 plastic so I can recycle it through the Preserve recycling program, but it's still quite wasteful.

Returning after a long absence, I still really enjoy this game. In the absence of a lifetime membership, the game cards are a good alternative.

My husband had a game he wanted to play online (City of Villains I believe) but couldn't pay for it online for some reason. So instead of trying to purchase it online, he just purchased this card and that worked fine. It was sold in the stores at one point but they didn't carry it for a long time. It took a little while to get to us but since it worked, it was worth the wait.

Time cards work. City of Heroes is still fun & with the recent graphical update, "Ultra Mode", it looks better than most new games!

First off, this is a great price to pay instead of paying for a subscription or for a 30 Day card (Both about $15). Paying $20 for Two months is a great deal. The only problem that I have with this, is that I cannot buy more than one. I would buy this more, because I enjoy playing Aion with my Girlfriend so much if I could i would probably buy enough of these cards to pay for the next ten years. It was a great price to buy them at $0.05 a day. =3

With these timecards at last glance costing roughly $25, and getting free shipping on orders of $25 or over, it's worth it to save yourself the five bucks and order one through Amazon. They work on Lineage, Lineage 2, CoX, and Aion.
Before buying this version of NCSoft's timecard, though, you may want to check individual game timecards by the company. I bought one of these generic timecards and 3 Lineage 2 timecards, and they worked out to costing almost the same after subtracting shipping and handling. It's a little known fact that any NCSoft timecard works with any NCSoft game. Do your research! At this time, I have not checked to see if there are still any L2 timecards available for around $10-$15 a pop (that's for 60 days). But if there are, get those instead, since they WILL work with Aion.

I found this on amazon and was like shoot, im saving money buying this on amazon than paying for an actual monthly subscription to the game. Easy to use and found it a better option rather than keeping track of credit card billing each month.
