I'm impressed...,
A Kid's Review
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: NDS Ultimate Spiderman (Video Game)
This game is much, much better than 'Spider-man 2' for the DS, which was released last year. The story line follows the recent Ultimate Spider-man comics, a new remake of the 'Amazing' series. Let me just say, this game is worth it for the story alone! You see, they did voice-overs for all the characters and included them in the cutscenes. The cutscenes themselves are pretty amazing. Instead of the same old 'movies' they decided to implement a comic book style, using the dual screen aspect. Very unique. However, the game suffers from one thing: the difficulty. It is extremely hard, though not impossible. Garunteed to take you at least a month to beat it, unless you're a game wizard. Playing as Venom, the bad guy, uses the touch screen element. Using the stylus, the player can grab practically anything in sight, including people. You can then slam them on the ground or 'feed' on them. For parents worrying that this may be too violent, be assured that there is no blood at all, and you cannot see the person when Venom feeds on them. There is a multiplayer option available, but I have not yet tried it out, due to the fact that it requires two gamecards to play.
Overall, this game game will appeal to gamers looking for a challenge. Any Spider-Man fans should definately pick this up, seeing how Amazon dropped the price ten dollars. Great game. 8/10

Imagination! Finally! Finally, someone is using that God-given imagination! Let's give it up for Vicarious Visions for not making a EA game! Come on, people! Oh, no claps? Anyway, back to the review. I know quite a few people are going to be offended by what I said about Electonic Arts in my past reviews, but I still hold to it. The way EA is trashing the Lord of the Rings trilogy is just purely sick! Oh, Ya! To the game. I have to say, Vicarious Visions has come along way with this game, compared to their lack-luster Spider-Man 2 DS game. The controls in the game run pretty darn smooth with some occasional glitchs, but overall run fluidly, wrether you're Spiderman or Venom. The voiceacting really adds to the game. I'm mean, every game{where it would suit} should have voiceacting. The graphics in the game could use a little tinkering, but overall are very good. The sound in the game is also pretty darn good. Personaly, I love it how they made the touchscreen work with Venom, how you can grab someone with the touchscreen by touching it and than using them for what ever purpose you deam. The thing I love about this game is the way they {Vicarious Visions} bring something new to the gaming world. I fully recommend this product to you, and hope you enjoy it.

I am a truly hardcore spider man fan, I really realy enjoy anything spiderman, from action figures to video games. I didn't want to spend alot of money on a console version of this game so I tried this one out. This game truly amazed me, Although its a side scroller, it doesn't play like one at all, and web slinging through levels, (even side scrolling!!) is fun. The combat system is unfourtunatley dull, (for spidey) he has a few moves and combos, but its very repetitive after playing 2-3 levels with him. This changes with venom, you use the touch screen for him, for all sorts of moves. The game also introduces a choose this or that, but your going to do it eventually missions system. You basically choose which mission you want to do, (either spidey's or venoms) then play them. Overall this game was fun to play, had an ok storyline, and gets a 5 * average for me.
