A multilayered, dark-tint, antistatic screen coating helps to reduce glare and to deliver a sharp, crisp picture, while the refresh rate increases as the resolution decreases--down to 160 Hz for 640 x 480 resolution, further helping to reduce glare and the resulting eyestrain. Horizontal frequency ranges from 31 to 96 kHz, while an invar shadow mask resists expansion, even on high brightness settings.
The easily adjustable menu-driven controls include brightness, contrast, horizontal/vertical position, moiré, degauss, and more. The Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) complies with both EPA Energy Star and NUTEK standards. Weighing about 55 pounds with a footprint of slightly under 25 inches by 23 inches, the 95F connects to either Mac or PC via a Captive 15-pin mini D-sub input cable and comes backed with a generous three-year parts and labor warranty.
The NEC AccuSync 95F's 1,600 by 1,200 maximum resolution and high 160 Hz refresh rate, combined with its fine 0.25-millimeter dot pitch, ensure sharp, crisp images. For enhanced screen sharpness and color intensity, the antistatic, antiglare screen treatment greatly reduces reflection while providing full use of the entire display area. Additional value-added features include on-screen controls, an Invar shadow mask, and a multilayered semi-dark-tint screen with OptiClear viewing. The monitor complies with EPA Energy Star and MPR-II regulations. It is backed by a three-year limited warranty.

great monitor, great price,
This review is from: NEC AccuSync 95F Flat Screen 19" CRT Monitor (Electronics)
apparently, manufacturing quality is spotty on this product, because my 95F is great. My 95F has sharp graphics & text, and no edge distortions; I did need to use the on-screen controls to adjust things, but that seems to be a normal thing these days. I normally run it at 1280x1024 @85hz, and 9pt text is clear and easy to read. It worked fine with my Powerbook G3 and NT/98 boxes

Quite an impressive unit!,

I'm writing to balance out the rating for this monitor because it deserves a higher rating than it presently has - despite the problems one reviewer experienced with theirs. I purchased this unit for my son, and every time I look at it I am envious. It's that nice! My own monitor is a 17" triniton tube that isn't bad, but this NEC flat screen is simply beautiful and detailed whether displaying text or a game. Don't let the low price fool you - NEC built a lot of quality into this monitor.

Very Disapointed,
By A Customer
This review is from: NEC AccuSync 95F Flat Screen 19" CRT Monitor (Electronics)
After reviewing the technical data on this monitor, I was expecting it to be a quality product. I've had it three days and all I've seen so far is one problem after the other. First, the text at the center is clear but at the edges it is blurry. Second, the top right and left corners give a distorted image. I'm going to return this bargain monitor and invest in a Viewsonic.
