I bought this monitor in 2003. The picture is fine but the monitor has a high pitched whine. This sound is very irritating and I find that after so long it's affecting my hearing. The controls are hard to see, especially in low lighting, and there are 8 buttons that all look the same so you have to go through a process of trial and error to adjust it every time. If you just care about the video quality though, this is ok for that. As for me, I'm looking now for something that makes little to no noise and I would suggest you look for something that doesn't make this noise.

I bought my NEC 1860NX over a year ago. Setting it up was easy, it has no problems staying in whatever position you set it - the hinges and bushings in the base are quite solid.

One problem many people have with LCDs is dead pixels. Mine has none, and has continued to have the same great picture quality as it had when I first got it, even after packing it back up and shipping it when I moved to Seattle.

One of the most appealing aspects of this monitor is that you simply don't notice it. It is comfortable for viewing with the room lights on or off, and honestly I've never had to tweak the monitor settings after I set it up initially.

The price on this one hasn't really fallen much since I bought it, but I still consider it to be worth it. You're getting an excellent deal, considering the peace of mind that comes with the high-quality product.

The display is crisp and bright. Graphics look great via the VGA or the DVI input from my 9600XT video card.
