This review is from: NEC MultiSync LCD2070NX 20" LCD Monitor- Silver (Personal Computers)
I am a professional photographer so I need a monitor that can be fully calibrated to the sRGB color space, the 2070NX gets as close as any monitor under $1K. While many LCD monitors at this price can be color corrected, very few can have corrected brightness levels. My white luminance is 118 cd/m2 and even more impressive is my blacks get down to .16 (most LCD's don't get dark enough, this one is very reasonable). The key to get this accuracy is to set up for viewing in dim conditions (most calibrations packages give several options for ambient lighting).
If you don't want to spend the money on a LaCie or other higher bit depth monitor but still need your images to match your prints I highly suggest this monitor...just don't forget to buy a monitor calibration hardware.

Great monitor, colors are even and the viewing angles are better than I expected. No back light bleeding, no ghosting, no dead or stuck pics. The swivel base and height adjusting stand make it very easy to setup for comfortable viewing. I just wish I had purchased a second one while it was on sale :)
The only thing that stopped me from giving it all 5 stars, is the powered USB hub. When you turn the monitor off, the hub shuts down as well. If you leave an MP3 player,iPOD, or a cell phone attached to charge, you must leave the monitor on. It's not a big issue, as the monitor will blank the screen and go into sleep/power saving mode automatically, with power still going to the hub. I was justed used to turning off my old monitor when I step away from the PC. |
