About the Author

Artist & Author of NECROphealia Yoko Molotov is 22 years old and was born and raised in Louisville, KY nestled in the basin of a polluted river. She decided at age 9 she would do comics, at that age on college rule and the backs of important documents like her original birth certificate. Five years later she discovered the saccharine and disturbing world of Manga and Anime and knew it was where she belonged. Inspired by such artists as Mita Ryuusuke (Dragon Half) and studio GAINAX (Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL), she carved her own world with imagination and Bristol, constantly chastised for drawing in her High School days. In 2006 Yoko made top 20 in Tokyo Pop s Rising Stars of Manga Competition with her entry NecrOphealia and went along to create a Shoujo-ai Web Manga called Stray Crayons -BOTH now published by Demented Dragon! Yoko loves her city, her better half and best friends in the entire world, and loves nothing more than to get lost in a good story (whether it be Manga or not) in a song, or better yet an adventure.

If i were a young and innocent girl, i would want nothing more than an undead pile of rotting flesh following me around with adventure waiting around every step. Eating my enemies, defending me from werewolves, going camping, producing smells that would make any bully think twice...what more could you ask for in a best friend???
Ms. Molotov has captured both the wonder of youth and the soul-crushing potential for the zombie appocolypse in this fine book. Its always great to see a new and truly original zombie story on the market and this is defenantly one.

I love this book! It's crazy funny! Ophealia even has a zombie kitty cat!The art is campy shoujo like Kodocha but very classic manga with lots of neat tones. I got Yoko's other book too here Stray CrayonsStray Crayons Volume 2
its much more serious but same great characters and art work. I hope Necro becomes a series too or at least has zombie toys soon, I want a zombie kitty doll!!

I liked the idea of this book before I ordered it, and I definitely enjoyed it. The humor was spot-on, and I liked the plot of the three stories, but it is a small book, and the stories are not very long. A great start, though!
