This is a great 4-channel RC helicopter for the price.
Transitioning from a 3-channel to a 4-channel helicopter means there's much more realism in the way the little machine flies. The swash plate control system and full articulating rotors are quite realistic. The helicopter itself is rugged. Mine's absorbed much unintended abuse that comes from learning to fly a more advanced helicopter.
The digital proportional control system allows for generally smooth applications of power and controls. The trim controls (4 in all) are effective. If there is a structural fault, it is that the anti-torque (tail) rotor needs to be slightly smaller to prevent it from contacting the ground on uneven terrain.
The gears for the main rotor are exposed on the sides. This means that you need to clean them by blowing on them or having a small can on compressed air to keep the machine working correctly if you fly in an area with dirt or sand.
The operator can choose the level of responsiveness to inputs by selecting beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of input. Unless you already proficient with 4-channel helicopters, definitely start out using the beginner setting.
The helicopter handles well in light winds, even small gusts. The transmitter range is good out to roughly 450 feet.
This is not a helicopter for beginners. It will pay dividends for those transitioning from 3- to 4-channel systems to read the FAA's Rotorcraft Flying Handbook about helicopter aerodynamics.
All in all, this is a very satisfying little helicopter. I give it 4.7 stars, but will round it up to 5.
Have fun!
