This things got a great suction cup. It grasp the windshield like a lawyer grasp your wallet and a politician grasp at straws.

Unfortunately this thing IS meant primarily for landscape format GPS devices. Even my huge EVo / HTC Super Sonic phone WITH an outer housing/shell isn't wide enough to be grasped by this thing in portrait mode. The photos of an iPhone sitting in this thing in portrait while being grasped are incredibly misleading. I modified mine by padding the arms with with a cut up no-skid under rug traction pad and secured that with nylon electrical tape. (Not the standard sticky crud all over the place style) It works great. The "swivel supports" that hold the phone until you secure the clamps are a bit lose and crazy, I'm going to secure mine with sticky adhesive, not enough to hold it, just enough to make it "gummy" so they only move when I move them.

If you have an iPhone, go get something else. If you have something huge like I have, this may be your only choice. Almost everything else I've looked at is just a little too small for an EVo. If you don't mind a little do it yourself modification this may be your best choice.

On another note - mine was NOT well packaged. It was stuffed in an unpadded envelope and sent via US Mail. Mine suffered damage in shipment, but by the time I was done with the tape and everything else it didn't really matter.

I have no doubt this is one of the best choices for a horizontally mounted GPS unit.

It crapped out a couple of months ago.

The suction cup tore off of the plastic "piston" that holds it. My theory is the cold weather caused what air was left in the suction cup between the windshield and the suction cup itself to contract, which pulled the cup closer to the windshield, stressing the upper collar, yeah, I'm thinking science here.

Still, in the end it was cheap, and I don't regret it. The one I bought to replace it cost 5x as much and doesn't grasp the windshield as well.

This product was just what I was looking for: a hard-to-find generic GPS holder at a low price and of good quality. The suction holds VERY WELL!!, and the angle adjustment knobs are easy to use. The 'neck' of the unit is very sturdy. The unit is very sturdy, except for a small amount of swaying from left to right. But don't worry, this is only noticeable during rough riding. The unti is held tight enough so that one can easily use the touchscreen without using more than one finger or pushing so hard that the GPS and holder fall. I recommend this product because it seems to truly hold any brand of GPS without the brand-name price!

Even though the description says it works with the iPhone, it does not. The holder is too large and does not close to a size small enough that can hold the iPhone securely in portrait mode. Since I bought this for the iPhone, it is useless to me. Other than that, it seems to be a nice holder for a larger GPS unit.

1.It comes with little instruction so I have to figure everything out by my self.
2.I can fit my 7inch GPS on it but it doesnt stay there.
3. The suction cup doesnt work. It fell off the winshield even when it is not holding anything.

This item isn't worth anything. It won't stay attached to the windshield or a dash pad by its self. I haven't even attached a phone or GPS unit to it.

Maybe it's me, but it seems that I cant find a good car mount holder in the my local stores (Ca, L.A.). Why and how can this be? Oh well, I guess that's for the theologians to figure out. Jokes aside, it's a great product, very strong and sturdy built. It has great suction action too! It just wont let go, very hard to get it off. Really have to work it to ease the grip when removing it. Overall for it's size it's very well designed especially for oversized devices.

The suction is not good enough and it is a bit too bulky. I generally avoid using it as I am scared the GPS clamper is also not strong enough.

The product works fine. It is plastic, so it does not feel very durable. Delivery was as advertised.

No comPlaints for how much was spent. Suction not spectacular and a bit odd design but overall decent.
