I saw an exhibition in Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art( MCA) some years ago. Just stopped for a few minutes on my way out of the Museum. The images stayed with me. When I was in Chicago in September, I asked at the Museum Store about the exhibit and if there was a book. The book was not an MCA publication and was no longer in stock. I found it on Amazon for a decent price and snapped it up. I'm so happy I did. I have been reading The Man with the Golden Arm in preparation for my Christmas visit to Chicago. This book brings Algren alive and places him in his favorite Chicago haunts. It might be a good present for a good Chicago friend of mine who shares the same love for the city and its irrepressible life.
