It was getting to be a pretty nasty furball. Enemy cubicle factions had been gaining ground, and it was becoming steadily more and more difficult to deny them entry into the critical software development lab. Sadly, we were losing ground daily due to the fact that the enemy forces were freshly infused with cheap, easy to maintain, hand-held weapons. In order to combat our well-armed adversaries, something had to be done. The last area-denial system was not effective. The new-fangled USB foam missile launcher system we had previously installed to address the threat simply could not fire accurately enough, and was no match for the sustained fire of the Evil Horde's many N-Strike Mavericks and Longshots.
Enter the Vulcan. This tripod-mounted terror was just what the doctor ordered. Mounted behind my desk with a clear view of the doorway and connecting hallway, this beast struck terror into the horde even before the first shot. The obvious psy-ops advantage was due to this machine's sheer enormity. This baby is long, tall, heavy, and plain scary-looking. I'd say it catches the eye. This thing is the color of nightmares. The Vulcan's color scheme was obviously decided upon by a escaped mental patient that used to work in a candy corn factory. Its aesthetics leave a bit to be desired. But its performance? Pure dart-slinging glory. The unboxing and setup of the weapon was a snap. Back at the ranch, and far from the foamy stench of the battlefield, I ran the Vulcan through it's test paces. Initially I was not impressed. Three rounds, then jam. Over and over. Just as I was about to give up, I realized the problem. The darts were brand new, and the rubber tips were incredibly clean, and more than a little tacky. They weren't releasing from the belts properly, thereby jamming the Vulcan. I imagine a few more belts of fire through it would have done the trick, but being impatient, I sprayed the belt down with a touch of Pam cooking spray. Now, if one of the dreaded Horde so much as stick their nose around the corner they get 3 shots per second of whistling, foamy death. No jams, no worries. As far as performance, it's got mediocre range and accuracy. However, the sustained rate of fire makes this a non-issue. I can afford to miss with a dart or two, as many, many more are right on its heels. I am proud to say that this weapon has effectively curtailed the enemy incursions into our exclusion zone, and has allowed our troops to go from area denial to aggressive raiding, thereby pushing the enemy lines back to beyond the conference room. We have regained our pride and our territory. Thanks Vulcan!

MAVERICK and RECON are available now in Japan, and MAVERICK is popular very much in particular in Japan. The other items such as VULCAN wanted you to release it by all means in Japan and made this video. I do not understand whether fun comes on this video well, but am glad when I have you be interested.

Let me start by saying, if this thing worked as advertised, it would be amazing. I'd give them to adults I know as gifts. However, the plain fact is the Nerf Vulcan has serious quality control/design issues. The reviews on the other amazon entry for this product complaining about the jams etc are not flukes. It would be cool if it worked, it doesn't.
Xmas morning, half a belt run through it and it is down for the count. The cocking mechanism no longer works, the belt won't advance. Return it to the store for an exchange. 3 shots with the new one and it is down for the count. Cocking mechanism no longer works, the belt won't advance. Being an FFL and someone who works with real guns, including building them, I am kind of frustrated and go to customer service with Hasbro thinking "surely there is some trick to this." No help trouble shooting from Hasbro, just apologies and "we've had lots of problems, please box it and send it back." 4 weeks later I get a nice letter saying they are out of stock and cannot replace our gun. Here we are, 2 months after xmas, and we still have not received what we paid for. The gee whiz factor of this gun would be immense if the thing actually worked. The unavoidable truth is the gun simply does not work. If you got one that runs, hold onto it with both hands and baby it, because you seem to have the exception and not the rule. Nerf, you owe your public a tangible apology for this mess.

The toy rocks,I will be buying several more.It does jam occasionally,be warned. The bonus pack is definitely the way to go,just watch the price. It has been fluctuating wildly over a month's span now, from $38.50 to $95.00.Also be warned-Amazon jerked me around quite a bit with my order:in stock, not,no responses over the course of 2 weeks,etc..

I bought this for my son and he loved it. Actually, I bought it for myself so my son could play with it. It is so much fun. He also doesn't mind picking up all the Nerf darts either.
Get the value pack if you can find it at Target. [...] and you get 2 belts and 50 darts. The regular kit only has 1 belt and 25 darts for the same price. If you want it to shoot further, you can search on Yahoo for "Nerf Vulcan Mods". Doing the mod on the belt gets you almonst 20% increase in range. All I can say it is super fun. Brings out the kid in all of us.

After receiving this item I put it together and after the first test shot, it BROKE. Talk about disappointment for a 6 year old. We returned it no problem to Amazon, and purchased the same one at Toys are US, same day. Try telling a 6 year old to wait 5 days.
The gun jams very easy and has a lot of misfires. Its not that durable. I had to teach my son to STOP firing if it jams, otherwise is shears a gear off inside and its useless. The second gun works fine after about a month. The secret to not jammin is 3 things: 1. Make sure you load the bullet string with the logo outword. The bullet clips have writing on one side and blank on the other. If after you load the bullet string look at the bullet casing. If you don't see any writing, its in backwards. Pull it out and start from the other end. No directions on this so maybe its just my luck, but it makes a difference. 2. make sure you push all the bullets in all the way. If they hang out a little they will jam. 3. Use the bullets they come with. Not other ones with the plunger on the end. Besides that its a lot of fun. Takes 10 mins to collect all your bullets and reload and about 30s to go through a full clip. Not perfect, jams and missfires, not superdurable, but overall a good item. I would recommend, cause its BAD @ss!

This is the best nerf gun yet. It shoots pretty fast and far. My son loves it! It just tends to get jammed frequently.

I actually ordered this from [...] since the value pack is cheaper there ($[...], same price as the gun itself).
Pros: - Sheer number of darts is pretty staggering. Three people on my team have vulcans and when we hit someone's office, it will quite literally carpet the floor in darts - Accepts any Micro darts. I bought a couple packs of the tagger darts so that as I lose darts, I can keep the belt full. - Has rails, so if you've got any rail-mounted accessories, they work here (I recommend the red dot light from the Recon if you've got it) Cons: - Ammo box gets knocked off easily. Combined with the fact that it jams a lot if you don't have the ammo box on, it means you can end up looking silly (okay, sillier) if you try to bust in to someone's office, knock off the ammo box on the door frame and then jam three rounds later. - Reloading takes an age. Fortunately, the value pack comes with a second belt, and loading a new belt is pretty quick. I still recommend having something else for reloading. - You'll probably get one used against you at some point if they get popular in the office. I recommend a meat shield. Anyway, it's a lot of toy for $[...]. If you're in to Nerf, it's well worth it, just keep something handheld around for quick use.

Once I read about this nerf gun, I just had to get it. Originally for my nephew, he had a little trouble holding it (He's still five) so it has remained in my care for the time being. I can't tell you how much fun it is to shoot 3 darts/ second at an unsuspecting sibling or parent. (just make sure to aim low so you don't shoot them in the face)
Pro's Fully Autotmatic (need I mention more?) Con's As mentioned, sometimes the ammo box does come loose upon being banged into something but the fact that it hasn't broken has impressed me more than the fact that it comes loose and falls off. If you like nerf guns, this one is a definite "MUST BUY" item.
