Very shocked by the range and speed this router provided for my in home network. this router effectively doubled my coverage in my home and the speed boost of the new AC band was a pretty big bonus. I was a bit hesitant about having something with three antennas on it but to be honest they're repostionable and fairly easy to get out of the way. this little unit has helped my home network do much more than I originally thought. I can run a fluid streaming media server in home now so my big bad media pc can stay in my office with it's noisy fans while my home theater pc does it's quiet little thing in the living room. I'm happy :)

Netgear AC750 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router (R6050) Review

I have received the Netgear AC750 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router (R6050) as a free product to review. First, the overall build quality is pretty good for a basic router. The AC adapter that is included sort of flex a bit but still has a pretty good rigidity. The router itself feels decently solid but will not survive a high fall if that does happened. Remember it’s a home router and not a black box. The design of the router has three fixed omnidirectional antennas, one front USB port, one WAN port, four gigabit LAN ports, a rear power button, and a front WDS button. There is no wizard setup CD because that option is integrated into the router and can be access when logged into the router. This feature eliminates the problem of losing the setup wizard CD which is very helpful for those who don’t know have to setup the router manually. The initial setup is very simple and straightforward made possible by the integrated setup wizard. The wizard automatically detected my cable internet service and I was able to immediately connect to the internet through the router wired or wireless. So therefore, this router has a very user friendly setup. A side note when setting up a MAC address filter is that it is called “Wireless Card Access List” instead. Located in the Advanced tab, then go to Advanced Setup -> Advanced Wireless Settings -> Set Up Access List. There is also an app that can be downloaded called Netgear Genie to manage and monitor the router without having to log in through the web browser. This app is supported on Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. The advanced settings within the router is design mainly for common residential and small businesses as long no VPN is needed.

This is an excellent router with an excellent price if you need an Internet flamethrower. I had to provide a good signal for streaming video in a 6000 foot facility. Literally from one corner to the other is where I needed the signal to go, with about 5 partitions between. Instead of having to run a wire I got a 3 bar solid internet in that back room. Thanks netgear for always making a quality product!

AC750 Dual Band Router by Netgear is plug ‘n play solution for those who don’t need complicated network devices but just want to use all wired and wireless devices they have connected in home network.

Therefore, inside the package user besides the obvious will receive only the Ethernet cable, quick guide and power adapter, and router is compatible of all major platforms – Windows, Mac OS, Linux and UNIX. Because of supported simultaneous dual band which enable speed up to 300+433 Mbps Netgaear router will be welcomed by gamers and those in need for streaming of high definition videos,

Featuring strong external antenna (5dBi) router can be easily used in larger spaces providing good range, while additionally offering ReadyShare access enabling user to wirelessly connect and share USB printers and hard drives.

It has somewhat unusual appearance with its three antennas, but believe me that because of its range this visual flaw will soon be forgotten.

Overall, Netgear AC750 is good and recommended router solution if you have basic networking needs, you are on budget and need to cover larger space with WiFi signal.

We're all guilty of it, using the stock Actiontec router thingie that FioS gives us for far too long. I myself had certainly felt the limitations of the stock router for a while now. Evidently streaming HD content all around the house ain't as easy as said. I had even been thinking about getting myself a new router but I was confused by all the new technology and the complex setup issues that come with each different brand.

Enter my friend at Netgear who set me up with this router at no charge, talk about a welcome upgrade for sure! My first hurdle though was Verizon and the OTB that delivered my Fios connection over coax to the Actiontec. I had to call them and ask for them to switch the signal from the coax to the supplied ethernet port on the OTB. This was very easy to do but did require a little bit of hold time and another tech from verizon. BUT ultimately, no service call!!

After plugging the new ethernet cable into this Netgear router and supplying some good 'ol 120volt, I was surfing the web at lighting speed almost immediately. When the instruction manual is only 3 pages long you know it will be an easy setup.

I placed the router right where the old on was, in my attic about centrally located above my sing story floor plan of 1700sqft. This is by no means a large home but with my old router I did notice the signal loss along the extremities of mine house. With the triple antenna and the new 5ghz signal, I no have perfect coverage across my vast estate. Even out in my car when I'm trying to download the rest of that podcast before headed to work.

SO the signal and speed are there (did I mention 60mbps up!), how about the "friendliness"? Well I don't require a ton of customization.
