I've purchased several JL products in my lifetime and I've yet to have a bad experience. Every product has been pushed and tested to my needs and I can truly say JL is top-notch. Oh...this is being used to move my JL-W6 12 and it's perfect.

I just installed my jlaudio 500/5 in my eclipse and it sounds great. I have had alot of amps in my vehicles and this one sounds the best by far. It sound great and never gets hot.

Amp is good, Has a lot of power, was expecting a little bit more power out of it tho. Great amp for the money. Highs and lows off of it

Well, I began about 10 years ago piecing my car stereo together. Within 4 years my stereo was complete. Oz audio component matrix speakers (amazing) on the floor (kick panels) and in the doors. Cerwin Vega's in back (decent). JL audio 12" sub in the back and finishing the job was this JL 5 channel amp running all the speakers but the vega's. Head unit was a uber nice nakamichi in-dash.

Thru the years this amp. has never overheated, never caused me any battery problems and just plain sounded astonishing. I've not had a single issue for six years. Coupled with my competition speakers the sound was out of this world. More than plenty clean powerful bass and the SQ of the fronts are just pure as a white dove. I've looked around for other 5 channel amp's but I just don't think anything really compares to this one.

If you want something to run a couple of 15's this probably isn't what you are looking for but if you want a GREAT all around system to sound perfect I would suggest giving this a whirl.

I have owned this amp for almost 3 years. It is paired with a Clarion Touch Media head unit and a pair of RE Audio components and an RE Audio 10" sub in a stealth box.

This amp was recommended to me by the salesman at "The Good Guys" in Escondido, CA. I was told that it was the best 5 channel amp for under $1000. I was kind of building my system slowly and at the time I just purchased the head unit and the amp along with a SIRIUS satellite radio subscription. I want to be honest and say that the experience I had at the good guys was not a good one. I feel I was lied too about several things.

Anyways, I do believe the amp is probably a very good one but the problem I have had is that I am having to send it back to JL Audio this weekend for the second time.

The first time the amp was blowing fuses. Sent it back and its worked good for about a year. This time, the front channels are messed up. The front-right channel does not work at all and the front-right channel has static and popping and is slightly muted.

I am still under the 3yr warranty, but I am worried that I will get the amp fixed again this time and in a year it will blow out again. This is pretty frustrating for an amp that I paid over $900 for.
