NFL 2k3-a gaming odessey 3 years late,

As a avid nintendo fan, i didnt know much about the "2k" series that was extremly popular on the Dreamcast and PS2. So, I didnt buy it when it came out. So this past August i was in the local blockbuster and used stuff was 25% off. I saw this game, NFL 2k3, sitting right there on the shelf, i picked it up and thought what the heck, couldnt hurt. The best 7.50 I ever spent. The Franchise mode is genious, it gave me a realistic shot of getting my much maligned Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl. The trading is well done, the free-agency isnt too complicated and the draft is smooth with little problem. Although you may curse at your players who wont take a 50k cut from their salary so you have enough room under the cap, you get used to it. Player progression is one of the most interesting parts of the Franchise Mode. A older player tends to get worse and a younger tends to get better, however this isnt certain. For example, Morten Andersen, my kicker, who has been playing for 22 years improved and Michael Vick whose been playing for 2 got worse. If you can get them go after cheap veterans who nobody wants, this is a great tip for success. The gameplay is smooth and easy to grasp, while i complain that the Falcons playbook has no 4-3 defense in it, most playbooks have great varieties of plays including some trick plays like flea-flickers. It takes about 3 to 5 games to learn how to play but once you get the hang of it, its very simple. Unlike a lot of football games, the pass and the run are about equally effective. For example, in my old QB Club 2000 game the passing game is awful and all you can possibly do is run the football. In some games, although i dont have an example off-hand some games the run is impossible and the pass is all you can do. Not this one. Great mix, hats off to sega for the good work there. The defense, stopping the run is a sinch if you figure out "the ot secret" i dont want to give it away because it could ruin the realism. The pass defense is pretty much up to the comp. Other modes include: Season, Practice, Exhibition and Situation. All are very interesting.SO BUY THIS GAME! 10 BUCKS! if you like football, youll like this game peace

Ok all you football gamers heres the lowdown. The ESPN feature is AWESOME. Commentary is smooth and presentation is super realistic. So why isn't there a 5 up at the top of your screen? Gameplay is dissapointing. A.I. is too difficuld and players slow down and speed up at uneven rates.
BOTTOM LINE: Not the years best football game but certainly better than 2K2.

Sega has finally mastered the flow of non-clunky player models and a realistic running game to capture the true essence of football....Yes. Madden die hards will always look at this as a second cousin of a great football franchise but NFL2K3 is starting to set the standard in football video games...This game this year is down and the best football sim you can buy its quick moving and the off season franchise mode is just as engrossing as the on-field action...Madden cannot touch it in those areas....though graphically it lacks somewhat behind madden, the player models and close ups of faces are dead on while the madden players seem a little washed out and generic...plus the thousands of in play animations run better than maddens which can be a repetitive mess...if you want true football action this is the game of the year

Sega sports nfl 2k3 hints of the true football sims of the future. I had to give it 5 stars simply for the polished accomplishments it can achieve in the future. Being a Madden addict since the first installment; I have also kept sega sports in my heart as well. This is the first to run head long with EA Sports Madden. This game is not for the novice armchair QB. even the highly skilled QB will have a great challenge with this one.But with time and patience this game rocks out the true football experience. Great detail went into the programming of this game; and will only serve as a cataylist for the future of football gaming. Move over EA, theres a new kid in town...You need this, get it now!!!

If anybody wants a great football game get this one. The graphics are great and the play calling and the moves are great also. Everyone says that madden 2003 is the best but its not. The only bad thing about NFL 2K3 is that you can not chalange the play. No biggie though it is still a great game. One of the cool things about it is that ESPN is covering the game. At the half of the game it shows the stats and the best player so far in the game. At the end of the game it shows the player of the game and all of the stats of the game. At the end of the week you can see weekly wrap up were it shows all the scores and the play of the week. It also shows the ofensive and defensive player of the week. The game is very realistic. I have had this game for two months and is it still so much fun. If you want to get a great football game that you can not put down then get this one.

OK, I'm not a huge Football fan, and I'm not really into sports much at all. BUT, I have always wanted a fun Football video game, and I got one!I recently bought this game, and I must admit, it's some SERIOUS FUN! The bone crunching noises, injuries on the feild, the quaterback sacks, awesome tackles, total control of each play, audience cheers, the voice commentary, instant replays & awesome graphics & gameplay....For me, it's one FUN GAME, and was worth every penny! Even better to play this while using your home-theatre surround-sound system! You really feel like you're in the game! There's even a "Franchise Gameplay Mode", and your choice of not only today's teams, but AFC, NFL, NFC teams & teams of years ago! Some dating back o the 1960's! A whole lot of fun! The best thing is that unlike many games where you'll play for a week, beat the game & sell it, a sports game is always different each time you play! No boredom here! Better to play with friends, but, playing it alone can be just as fun! Only thing missing is your coach calling you filthy names from the sidelines, when you miss a play! hehehe

My husband loves this game. It's his all time favorite. His original disc just stopped working. He was pretty distraught about it so I found a replacement disc for him. He's now enjoying his favorite game again and I'm enjoying his outbursts during his gameplay :D Thanks Amazon!

Let's get something straight. If you own NFL 2k3,you may have noticed that this game re-creates the look and feel of watching a game on ESPN.The commentators almost never repeat themselves, the AI is the best yet, and,as well as all 32 NFL teams, you get to choose from 5 Reigonal Alumni teams, both Pro Bowl teams, and over 100 classic teams, such as the 1967 Packers, the 1975 Cowboys, the 1987 Broncos, and the 2001 Patriots. However, I did notice one flaw-The commentary sometimes drowns out the sounds of the stadium! That's why I only gave this title 4 stars. If you just want something fun to play, this ts the game to buy.P.S. Go Jaguars! |
