This review is from: NFL Blitz 2001 for Nintendo 64 (Video Game)
Yo, I purchased this game after playing the original blitz. the original blitz is bomb..but this game is like..the h bomb, like boom boom bang. I won over 500 dollars playing the tournament mode but that money went to the charity of my choice. the graphics compared to the original is like woah. its almost like you are there in real life except you dont have to pay like 500 bucks a TICKET!! LOLOLOLOL. at first i didn't like the game cuz it was just totally different from the original but blitz 2001 is soooo ill. 4 players at a time? count me in! you know you be hanging around ur boys being bored and all thinking about the economy and the future of the world, it gets tiring and you need something to do besides being depressed. i think if everyone owned this game world peace would be guaranteed over night. im talking the WORLD! getcha hands on it!

I spent (and spend) many hours on the N64 and on my opinion, this is one of the best games ever made on the console. It is one of the few games that has withstood the test of time and I still play it this day with my buddies. There are codes galore for this game, it's 4 players, and it has some features that the old N64 blitz game doesn't have. My favorite difference in this game vs. the other N64 Blitz game is that you can actually kick field goals without having them blocked. They sometimes get blocked, but usually not. In the older game, EVERY kick could be blocked. Another fun feature in this game is the "on fire" mode. If you sack your opponent twice, or if you have a couple of pass completions to the same receiver, you are "on fire," where you get unlimited turbo, you're harder to tackle, and you throw better passes. Sometimes, if you are running somewhat close to the end zone when you are on fire, opponents will try and tackle you and they will hang onto your hips as you continue to run, dragging them with you towards a touchdown. It is hilarious, especially when your opponent is human and has an angry reaction to the situation. Once you get the hang of the game, it actually pays for itself as you challenge your friends and bet on your games.
