The new impact player option allows the gamer to edit the route or assignment in any play in the team's playbook. There's an all-new running game AI, and more than 1,500 brand-new catches, sticks, and hits, including some animations that were motion-captured using professional stuntmen swinging from rigging wires. Real-player stats, abilities, attributes, and attitudes add detailed realism to the game. The enhanced Create-a-Player mode allows the user to not only select the player's height, weight, and position, but also the uniform, face, head size and type, size of pads, facemask, and more. The game features enormous 3-D player models, with bulging muscles and real-player faces.
The over-the-top gameplay features players leaping, soaring, diving for passes, stiff-arming, the bulldozing and railroading of would-be defenders, and precision passing. Intuitive, fast-action, extreme-style controls allow for quick-response gameplay. The game is equipped with the original NFL Blitz point-'n'-pass system and icon passing. Dynamic camera angles capture all of the deep crossing routes and monster sticks by the linebackers.

NFL Blitz 2002 Rocks,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: NFL Blitz 2002 (Video Game)
Blitz 2002 will be tons better than any of the other Blitz games. This time it has the same real teams, real players and real attitude but is totally re-invented for maximum impact. Now it has an all new engine powering 8-on-8 action. Plus a new running game dimension and the revolutionarry Impact Player customization feature. Now Blitz will be more like all other football games but it still delivers no ref , no rules and no mercy football. This game is going to really stick out from other games.

We'll have to see,

First off, I have to say that NFL Blitz for the N64 was my 2nd fagvorite game for the system(next to Goldeneye) and was incredible fun, especially with two players. Back then, I never thought of what a football game should include, like the ability to have a dynasty, trade players, and create new players. It didn't matter that it didn't have any of those features because it was just so fun to play. On the other hand, I have only played the GBA version of Blitz 2002, ... I wouldn't preorder Blitz 2002 for any system until one version has come out for either of the three main consoles, then check the reviesws and see what they have to say.

Great Arcade Football Game,
By "jerseyrocks" (Bound Brook, NJ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: NFL Blitz 2002 (Video Game)
When you purchase NFL Blitz you are getting a great Arcade Football game. You are not however getting a great Football game. Here's the difference.NFL Blitz is a very fun enjoyable game with hard hits, imaginative commentary and very fast game play. It is a great game to play against a buddy because the hits and commentary make the game a social event. Playing by yourself is a totally different thing. For instance, if you prefer to grind the ball down the field, amassing 3 rushing yards per play while executing a NFC East type offense, avoid this game at all costs. You can pick this game up and start playing with little or no practice. This is, both an advantage and a disadvantage. For one, no matter how much you practice, the games moves as such a fast pace that planning and practice make little difference. It is a game of reflexes, the faster the better. The graphics are great, the hits are fierce and the total game environment is above average. There is no problem with recommending this game, just be aware that you are getting an arcade football game that is totally apart from a simulation or even half a simulation for that matter.... Hope this helps... Go Giants!!!
