This shows how the Panthers rose to the NFC CHampionship game in their only second year of existence. (Don't forget that they won NFC West title by dethroning the San Francisco 49ers.) They had a superb defense which had four pro bowlers, Kevin Greene, Lamar Lathon, two player who ranked first and second on the sacks in the NFL, Sam Mills, and Eric Davis. Don't forget a great special teams led by Jon Kasay's 36 FGs. Offensively, Kerry Collins had a breakout year with first pro bowl selection, so did Anthony Johnson (rushed for more than 1100 yards).
