4.0 out of 5 stars Where's the Artificial Intelligence?
I must say...there is disappointment with the artificial intelligence. One of the game's features allows us to customize the game's intelligence level?...Obviously, it doesnt' work or the game/creator is extremely dumb. I run the same play for the entire game but the defensive coverage doesn't change. How about a challenge next time guys!

The other thing I dislike is...

1.0 out of 5 stars madden is much better
i was happy with gameday '99 and gameday '98. but when i played gameday 2000, i was suprised to see little change in the gameplay. plus, when you try to tackle, the person about to be tackled always drags the tackler for an extra 5 yards. overall, madden 2000 is much better and more realistic.

The other thing I dislike is the draft. When the draft mode is set...it is not a total team draft. Approximately 5 offensive and defensive players are drafted to new teams. What a huge disappointment. If I had wanted to keep some of the original players I would've chosen to use the Trade mode rather than the Draft mode.

Having said this, the playability is very good and the stadiums are nice to play in. I love the feature of having all the SuperBowl teams (maybe next time we can get rights to the player's names) and to the All-Time teams. Overall, its definitely worth the money.

I bought this game and Madden 2000. I thought this game was better at first but Madden still is the king when it comes to pure football simulation. Same playbook make it easy to pick-up to play, but get repetitious. Also the celebrations are a little ridiculous. Only thing I like better over Madden is the commentary is personalize like "Terrell Davis busts one off for a huge gain", rather than in Madden Summerall would say "he just went over 100 yards". Call me crazy but those little details make the game seem more realistic. Final rating Madden 4.5 Gameday 2

this installment of gameday is the exact same game as last year...madden 2000 blows this game away....gameday is not a simulation its an arcade game. every player is the same, just different jerseys... it doesnt matter if youre the browns or the Jags you can go 16-0 and lead the league in every stat.

1.0 out of 5 stars why me?, December 8, 1999

I dont know if anyone else has this problem, but when i played Gameday 2000 there was tons of little defects. Every once in a while I'd run the ball with one guy and then all the sudden his name would change! And the statistics sometimes were wrong also. I like all kinds of sportsgames and they keep improving but gameday just always seems to stay the same. When are they actually going to make a game where they call penalties! ever? and a computer that actually varies it's plays? Not just passing the ball to the same guy every time. And not even a smart pass. I bought this game, and then i took it back. Merry Christmas all!

My son and I loved the stiff arm with this new version of Game Day.Although it is not much different then the prevous versions it is a good idea to rent first.I was also dissapointed in the anoucers. Not only the same as '99 but saying the same things, not very orginal. Three stars is generous.

4.0 out of 5 stars On the whole, a pretty good game., October 9, 2001
This review is from: NFL GameDay 2000 (Video Game)
The graphics are good on this game. Commentary is quite bad, but music when you score a touchdown is good. The A.I. is a bit bad, one time I kept running a run play to the right side about five times straight and the opposition never tried to fix that problem. Although if it didn't the game would be pretty hard. 989 definitely scores with this game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Turn off your brain., January 5, 2000

This is a pretty fun game. The graphics are above average, and the animation is fairly smooth. As mentioned by other reviewers, there are one or two niggling little bugs, but for me they didn't really detract from my enjoyment (as the title states, turn off your brain).

The commentators become a little same-ish after a while ("Here is a good example of the quarterback waiting, waiting, waiting, and then..." you get the idea).

I like some of the other features, like designing your ideal "super" player, being able to trade folks out of the team, free agents etc etc.

If you just want mindless entertainment, you should enjoy this, if you're looking for a real simulation of football management, or first person football, then this probably isn't for you.

I wonder when SimFootball comes out? :-)

Lots of additional reinfinement makes this a great game, maybe the best. The graphics have received quite a bit of boost, and really look great. The gameplay is strong and exciting, just like it has been since NFL Gameday 1996. I love this game, and it really deserves a spot in every gamer's collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars This game is great!!, September 13, 2001

All I can say is that this is probally one of the better football games for Playstation. If you have it on Pro or Veteran it is a very entertaing game. The graphics are about as good as a football game can be on a PSX, so that is a plus. The only thing is the amount of space it takes to save a season. The current season I'm playing is using two memory cards, that is way too much space.
