Simply Put...The Greatest Video Game Ever Made..., July 2, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: NHLPA Hockey 93 GEN (Video Game)
I know that's a pretty bold statement, but it's true. NHL '93 incorporates all of the best elements of the NHL Hockey series. The thing that separates this game from the rest is the aggressive nature of gameplay. Fights come fast and furious and there is blood present after you best an opponent(something that was since removed from all subsequent versions). The gameplay is nothing less than flawless. I will never forget the first time I turned this game on and the players actually slid on the ice, from that point on I was hooked. Although the graphics now seem dated, they were revolutionary for their time. Nothing would give me more pleasure back in the day then beating my brother in NHL '93 with the Hartford Whalers featuring Murray Craven, John Cullen and Sean Burke. As a hockey fan, you just can't get anymore old school than NHL '93. A MUST OWN VIDEO GAME! In fact, I still have my Sega Genesis just so I can play this game. Highest Recommendation.

NHLPA '93 is the best video game *ever*, March 25, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: NHLPA Hockey 93 GEN (Video Game)
I dont think that there was ever a better video game created, this comming from a guy that hated this game when he first got it and never played it. Sure, plenty more games that came out after it look better, are more accurate, and offer more features, but no game will ever come close to NHLPA 93's level of entertainment. Fights, injuries, intermission highlights and Jeremy Roenick make this game so great. Even though PS2, Xbox, PCs, and other systems offer more advanced and better looking games, I have never played anything more fun than this game, and I dont think I ever will. This game simply can't be beat. I keep comming back to it over and over again for hours of fun.

Best Game in the EA series, October 8, 2004
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: NHLPA Hockey 93 GEN (Video Game)
This is the best hockey game in EA's series. Some would say that later games like NHL 97 or NHL 98 were the best in the 16 bit era, that the "later" the games got the "better" they got, but I completely disagree. Not only do I feel that that NHLPA 93 has the best graphics in EA's 16 bit series, but by far the best gameplay. Pucks bounce around unpredictably, and the ONLY hockey game in the series with the guts to add not only fighting but also BLOOD!! NHL 94 is considered the best by many due to the addition of "one-timers" and "goalie control", but truth be told you'll have more fun without these options as it makes the game more challenging and fun. Plus the gameplay in NHL 94 does not compare to that of NHLPA 93, one timers and goalie control or not. We all know the DEBACLE that was NHL 95, and NHL 96-98 were way too fast and the gameplay was subpar compared to NHLPA 93. Judge for yourself, buy all the games and you will see. Get hooked with the greatest intro to a sports video game ever, and have a blast down nostalgia lane with NHLPA 93, the greatest hockey game ever created!!
