NIKON D3100 DOES THIS REMOTE WORK WITH NIKON D3100?

No, it does not. I received this remote as a Christmas gift to use with my D3100 and now must return the remote.

The only remote Im aware of thus far,that will work with the Nikon D3100 is a CORDED Model,its the MC-DC2.Pretty inexpensive,and there is that cord you'll have to deal with,but at least its something.A BIG step backward when you learn that the Nikon D3000 works with the WIRELESS type.Bummer .BAD NIKON,BAD!

Sorry but apparently it does not. The MC-DC2 remote control cord is available from Nikon to fit the GPS connector on the side of the camera. However, if you google "nikon d3100 wireless remote" there are several third party manufacturers that offer a wireless product for the D3100. Some use RF which has a much longer range and doesn't have to be pointed towards the front of camera.
