5.0 out of 5 stars Makes all the difference
The M-16/AR-15 was designed with a carrying handle. Now that optics are tough enough for the battlefield, the handle is out and optics are in. Nikon has designed a family of scopes that are tailored to the AR platform and the 55 gr. 223 round. 3.0 out of 5 stars Nikon M-223 AR scope mount

Was happy with scope and mount with looks and ease of installation until I went to sight-in and tryed to get to charging handle to chamber the first round - had to use thumb only - would have thought that a mount designed speciflcally for AR would allow enought room to get to a important area like the charging handle with out having to buy a riser adaptor

The M-16/AR-15 was designed with a carrying handle. Now that optics are tough enough for the battlefield, the handle is out and optics are in. Nikon has designed a family of scopes that are tailored to the AR platform and the 55 gr. 223 round. The scope is fantastic and so is the rifle, but when I mounted the scope with regular rings, I was not able to get enough eye relief with this scope, or any other similar scope. The Nikon M-223 mount was designed to solve this problem, and it does. It moves the scope forward on the rifle enough to provide excellent eye relief. To make things even better, it has 20 MOA of elevation correction built it so that I don't run out of elevation "clicks" at longer ranges. Finally, it is solid as a rock, repeatable and great looking. I am totally satisfied and give this mount my highest recommendation.

This is a great product. I mounted in on my M4 to hold my M223 Nikon scope. It is rock solid and allows lots of room for scope adjustment.
Would recommend this product highly.

This is a very solid mount, with plenty of adjustment. And the best part is IT IS MADE IN THE USA!! How often do you find that anymore. Buy products made in the USA, help keep fellow Americans working by doing your part. Look for products Made in the USA

Excellent mount. Well made and the three attachment screws make it rock solid on the rail. Mounted Nikon M-223 scope on my AR with it and the front offset allows easy access to the charging handle. I also really like the one piece construction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Mount, January 28, 2011

Being new with the whole AR thing, I've had to learn the hard way. Quality is everything. From my own experience I've found that even the slightest movement of your scope can throw you way off target. I purchased a less expensive scope and mount the first time and I could not stay zeroed in. Very frustrating. A friend told me to purchase this mount. Glad I did too. This thing is rock solid on the gun and now I have no problem holding zero with it. I highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars great mount; would like to see a quick detach option/version, May 10, 2011

This review is from: NIKON M-223 743 AR Mount (Black) (Electronics)
I recently mounted a Nikon M-223 scope with this mount on my AR and really like it. It was very easy to do (I've mounted many scopes using various mounts). The other reviewers did a good job of summing up the MOA and eye relief advantages of this mount; it excels in these areas.

The two areas I would like to see Nikon improve on this great design would be to offer it in a lower height and to offer a quick detach system similar to those on Larue Tactical mounts. The QD feature (in my opinion) is the only real functional advantage over the Nikon M-223 mount, and the Larue mount costs about twice as much ($195 MSRP). If you're a tactical shooter, the Larue QD might be a must, but for target & hunting the Nikon is a great value and offers comparable quality.

Also, Nikon has a promotion right now where if you purchase a qualifying M-223 scope from a participating dealer, you get the M223 mount for free! This offer is good through 5/31/11. If you can't find a participating dealer in your area, call Archie at Buffalo Sporting Goods in Buffalo, TX. They stock all of the M-223 scope models and have great customer service.

Easy to mount and level scope with this AR mount. Very stable platform. Very affordable. I wish it came in different heights as this set up on my flat top was a little too low for me and I needed a riser. Overall good quality, great with my M-223 1-4X scope.

OK so this is the first scope mount i have personally purchased but i must say i have 0 complaints. the design aesthetics are awesome. the quality is the real deal. and it has held my scope tight without the need for adjustments through 3 trips to the range at about 100 rounds a trip. if you are looking for a light weight sturdy mount for any scope and have the $70+ you will not regret this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great with one exception, September 27, 2011

I chose this mount to use with a 1.5-4.5 wide angle Weaver and it works fine. I like the one piece scope mount and will buy another one for a 3x9 or larger long distance scope. Plan is to hopefully just change scopes and be within a couple inches after the swap, shoot a couple to zero, and then be set for whatever I'm doing with the rifle that day. The rifle, a Rock River with the Wlyde cut SS barrel, is capable of sub half-inch groups at 100yds, so I like the idea of easily swapping scopes to get the most out of it.

The one issue I have with the mount is that two different size allen head wrenches are needed for adjustments: one for the rings, another for the rail mount. This is a major oversight on Nikon's part. ARs and their components should have a KISS philosophy for easy field service. Granted, once the scope is mounted under the rings, it's not likely to be changed; however, I will always have to remember a scope swap to the mount requires a second tool. Bummer, and the reason for 4 versus 5 stars.

I'll provide some insight later on how much tuning is required after I get the second scope mount and swap out scopes.
