This incredible new system, based on a .223/5.56mm 55-grain polymer tipped bullet, simply and effectively allows you to dial in your elevation anywhere from 100 to 600 yards away in less than one revolution. Now you can stay in the middle of your Nikoplex crosshair at virtually any shooting distance with a quick turn of the turret.
Nikon has engineered the entire optical system to provide the shooter with a bright, sharp, incredibly flat sight picture and light transmission up to its theoretical maximum--95 percent.
Every model features an impressive 4-time zoom range and four inches of constant, non-critical eye relief. A massive ocular lens delivers a huge, exceptionally bright, high-resolution sight picture.
Magnification reference numbers are viewable from the shooter's position.
For minimum weight and maximum strength and durability.
Nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed.
Most M-223 models can be mounted to virtually any rifle action regardless of caliber--even magnum-length actions.
Each year, Field & Stream magazine distinguishes the best outdoor equipment in its annual Gear of the Year issue. Industry experts rigorously field-test and evaluate every aspect of a product's performance against its competitors and carefully examines engineering and workmanship while subjecting the products to demanding trials.
The Nikon M-223 was given a Field & Stream Best of the Best Award for 2010.

This scope will take your .223 out to 600 yards,
This review is from: NIKON M-223 8488 3-12x42SF Riflescope (Black) (Electronics)
I bought this scope and matching mount when they first came out for one of my AR's and let me tell you I could not be more pleased. I have since bought 2 more of these.1 for a heavy barrel .223 and one for a carbine type .223 that I would have never shot past 200 yards, now it is a serious long range rifle. I have turned over a dozen folks on to this M-223 line of scope and mounts as well and they are all very happy.

Great scope. Mounted on bushmaster varmint special. Clear optics and shoots great. May need to get m223 mount with scope for regular stocks. I'm using a magpul prs and it gives me more length for eye relief, but may still get m223 mount to match.

I have always loved Nikon optics....the M223 scope and base is no exception. Amazing clarity at full magnification; windage, elevation (BDC) and parallax turrets incredibly easy to use. Recommend buying a cheap laser boresighter (on Amazon !) to get zeroed. Great price; fast shipping....highly recommend. Works and looks great on my M&P 15.
