I bought this scope and matching mount when they first came out for one of my AR's and let me tell you I could not be more pleased. I have since bought 2 more of these.1 for a heavy barrel .223 and one for a carbine type .223 that I would have never shot past 200 yards, now it is a serious long range rifle. I have turned over a dozen folks on to this M-223 line of scope and mounts as well and they are all very happy.

Great scope. Mounted on bushmaster varmint special. Clear optics and shoots great. May need to get m223 mount with scope for regular stocks. I'm using a magpul prs and it gives me more length for eye relief, but may still get m223 mount to match.

I have always loved Nikon optics....the M223 scope and base is no exception. Amazing clarity at full magnification; windage, elevation (BDC) and parallax turrets incredibly easy to use. Recommend buying a cheap laser boresighter (on Amazon !) to get zeroed. Great price; fast shipping....highly recommend. Works and looks great on my M&P 15.

I got this scope to go with my new Rock River ATH AR. I was looking for an AR to do some longer distance shooting, and possibly some varmit shooting in the future. This seemed to be a good scope to finish off the rifle. I compared it to the Leupold AR scope, but I seemed to hear better things about the Nikon. And I have to agree with the prior reviews. This scope does a great job. I have only shot it enough to sight it in, so I can't say that I have put 1000s of rounds down range, but I only see positive things in my future.

I didn't bother bore sighting, so it took me a few rounds to get on paper. But once I did, I was quickly able to adjust the scope onto the bullseye. After I got in the bullseye, I started fine tuning. And that is where I quickly realized that shooting cheap ammo to sight in doesn't always help. But with what I was shooting, I was doing 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. I am pretty sure I will do much better once I go to my handloads. I like the turrets. They are easy to adjust, and lock in nicely. And the scope flip up covers are a nice touch.

So the scope is a good quality item. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an AR scope.

I put this scope and matching M-223 mount on my Sig 556. Took it to the range and sighted it in very quickly. The rapid action turret made it much easier than using a coin, just zero in at a hundred yards, pull the turrent up and turn it to 100 then push it back down. Windage works the same way. The optics are very clear all the way through the zoom range, no blur what so ever. I also want to mention that when I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Nikon had put a flip-up lens cover on the ocular lens and provided an ARD ( anti reflective device ) in the box as well. I'm very pleased with the performance of the scope and it looks great too. I will recommend it to everyone.

This is a nice scope. I have a DPMS 24 inch heavy barrel "varmit" rifle. I had a simmons scope but felt a bit disapointed in it. (it is after all a cheep scope). The Nikon is MUCH better. In fact it is every bit as good as the Leopold scope I have on one of my bolt guns that cost like twice as much. Very bright and the turret knobs work well. This scope has the same lenze and coatings as the Monarch line of nikon scopes. The only thing I would change is that the turret is calibrated for a 55 gr polymer tip bullet. For serious long range work most need a 77 or 80 gr Sierra bullet... thus the calibrations would be different. I would also recomend Nikon's mount for it if you are going to mount on an AR. With conventional mounts its difficult to mount the scope far enough forward. Its a very nice scope and I would recomend.

This is a great scope. I mounted it on my 20" AR and it does its job well. (I only need it to shoot out to 300 yards) The scope is clear and bright and the "Nikoplex reticle" is sharp. Magnification is good or maybe a little better than it should be at this price point, but if you are shooting out to 600 yards like Nikon claims these to be good to, be ready for a little loss of clarity. The adjustment turrets are solid and the side focus wheel is a really nice feature.

This scope is a fantastic "mid price range" scope for an AR, you can spend more money on scopes in this class that are not as nice as this one. I wish I would have bought it sooner.

I put this on my .223 Colt Match HBAR AR-15, it fits like a glove, with excellent
eye relief. I have not shot/ calibrated it yet, waiting on a laser sight.
I will follow up this review afterwards. sweet scope , pay the extra money
it is drop compensated for the .223 round, so my expectations are high..

Ordered this scope for my RRA after reading various reviews. I was surprised to find that the scope box had 3 layers of seals, and the most recent was torn in half. Also, upon opening the box I could tell this scope was not new and when looking through the scope it was fuzzy at best.

I returned the "new" item (which had clearly been opened at least 3 other times) for a refund. I purchased a new weaver scope from a competing site and couldn't be happier. I like Nikon, but am very, very disappointed with Amazon. Will not order another scope from Amazon in the future.

On the bright side, my new Weaver scope is outstanding, I got my refund from Amazon very quick, and my RRA AR-15 shoots beautiful.
