This product presumably consists of two volumes. The data is in a highly useful format, but Amazon's idea of a two-volume set is two copies of volume 1. You can't build much of a chemical equilibrium model working only with Al through Co. They refinded the money for the non-existant volume 2, but won't refund for the now-totally useless volume 1. You might try buying the set direct from Springer, the original publisher. When I complained Amazon said they were too big and important (my paraphrase) to bother with checking their stock to see if it is really what they advertise. Actually the problem probably originated with Springer, since the 2nd Volume 1 was actually in a Volume 2 jacket. Buyer beware.

This is the 4th revised edition of the classical JANAF Thermochemical Tables. As a researcher working on thermodynamics and statistical thermodynamics of non-stoichiometric interstitial solution systems, I have been using the earlier version of this table published in 1965 in which the data were compiled in cal. unit. In the new version published in 1998, the unit for the compiled data is converted to J from cal. which makes the use of the data more staightforward.
