What I liked most about this bible was that it was a 'real' bible. It was not paraphrased into cute litte stories, but had the exact words in the exact order as any adult bible. The print was a little larger and the were illustrations scattered throughout the entire book along with maps and a dictionary.

My nine year old daughter, who is autistic, loved this book when I gave it to her. She was able to read it on her own at night and she was also able to follow along with the scriptures read during church services on Sunday. However, she left it at church and the bible was never returned. I have been looking for another copy of this bible for about three months and I am estatic that I was able to get this bible at Amazon.com. Now I can replace the bible that was not returned and put another gift under the Chrismas tree at the same time.

I have shown this bible to a co-worker whose husband is a minister, she wants to get them as Christmas gifts for the children who attend her church. If you want your child to have a bible, this definitely the one to get.

I found out about this version of the Bible when I was about sixteen years old, and ever since then it has been my choice of Bible.

This version of the Bible is far easier to read than the King James Version, which was antiquated about 300 years ago.

What is significantly different about this version of the Bible over the others is that this version was translated from the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, rather than being a "translation of a translation", as other versions are.

Also, the translations were reviewed by members of all the major denominations, to ensure that no one verse favors any sectarian bias.

If you read any Bible for study or inspiration, this version is the one to get.

Excellent translation of God's Holy Word. Great for those who aren't "up" on their Shakespeare. For maximum benefit, I read this along with the King James to cross examine the two translations.

That's what I like best about this Bible. You can read it easily - it's not too big and heavy, the pages aren't too thin. Plus the cover is very cute and makes it look just like a regular book. NIV means it's been translated into easy-to-understand English. The Book of Revelation is especially easier to read than in other translations.

My nine-year-old was absolutely thrilled with her new Bible; this was her third one since she has been able to read. That very night, she read for quite awhile before her bedtime. When my wife and I went upstairs for prayers and to tuck her in, we noticed her prayers were more intercessory-and supplication-oriented. We asked her why and she said that she had read certain things in the book of Genesis, hence the change to her regular prayers. She reads it regularly without our prompting and loves the illustrations.

i thought this bible was going to be a little larger than it was. it's pretty thick, but it's just a tad bit larger than a pop tart.

A wonderful Bible written for children in easy to understand language. Beautiful pictures and maps are included.

I am using this bible everyday. Makes the bible study easier to understand. Would recommend this to anyone for bible study or just everyday.

This is my granddaughters' first Bible and she began to read it as soon as she opened the package. It is very well done so a young reader can understand it and easily memorize verses. There are some pictures but not too many. I like that it is hard cover so it will be very durable for a young person. I would recommend this Bible to anyone purchasing a Bible for a child.
