Good price - poor printing,
By A Customer
This review is from: NIV Deluxe Gift & Award Bible (Imitation Leather)
This is a full size Bible at a great price. However, the paper is thick and off-white and the printing is of poor quality and hard to read. Not a great Bible for steady use.

The Ideal Gift Bible,
By A Customer
This review is from: NIV Deluxe Gift & Award Bible (Imitation Leather)
The Deluxe Gift & Award Bible is nearly the perfect gift bible. Only meant for straight reading or to take to church. The introductions are short and the footnotes are not that helpful, but this bible is not meant for any kind of study, slight or critical. One nice feature: The Ministry of Jesus paralleled in the four gospels. If the only thing you are looking for is a nice, simple and easy to understand bible to take to church, then you have found your next bible.

The entire Bible at an affordable price!,
This review is from: NIV Deluxe Gift & Award Bible (Imitation Leather)
BOOK REVIEW:The "Gift & Award" Bibles are one of the cheapest--maybe even THE cheapest--Bibles out there. These Bibles are bare bones... That is; except for the table of weights and measures, introductions to each book, index of the passages featuring Jesus' ministry, list of key memory verses, list of 150 famous Bible stories, list of Biblical parables, etc.; they really have nothing to offer besides all the books from "Genesis" to "Revelations". What I like about these Bibles are that their pages are thick and don't wrinkle easily; most Bibles have thin pages, and they wrinkle very easily when I try to turn the pages. Another plus about these Bibles are that all the quotes made by Jesus are highlighted in red; they stand out easily from the other text which is black. What people might not like about these Bibles are that their print are extremely small, and a few people have complained about getting headaches when they tried to read the print. I am a very big fan of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible, and I have two copies of the NIV. However, I learned that the NIV leaves out a lot of words from the original Hebrew, Greek, and Armaic texts (i.e. there are words from these texts that weren't translated into English). I learned the King James Version (KJV) is more accurate in translation, and therefore, I'm thinking of getting a copy of the KJV.
