Some may appeal to your sense of freedom: 'Doesn't God want you to have any fun?' I was seeking a devotional that would provide me with a Bible-based approach, be incrementally consumable on a daily frequency, present thoughtful articles and provide questions as well. These criteria were hard to come by. Most books had most but not all of them. I was very pleased to find this for myself.

I read out of this each morning. Most important to me is that I have some level of interaction with the text. I was seeking this interaction specifically in the form of questions that would prod my introspection and feed my contemplations. Thus, answer each of the three daily on-topic questions in a separate notebook. I'm excited to be moving through this journey and I am very happy to have what I feel is a great venue and tool in this Men's Devotional Bible. I am already considering buying a copy for my brother.

I bought this Bible for my husband and one for my brother for Christmas. They both were extremely satisfied and really enjoy reading it. They really seem to like the extras such as little devotionals and weekly readings.

I purchased this book for my husband who is currently in Iraq. He asked for a better bible he could use during his time from home and I came across this book. I happened to mail it to myself then to my husband. The first thing that caught my eye were the colors! Great, calming color of blue and deep brown! The pages have a light blue tint to them and the font and size is easy to read. The pages are quite thin though! This might be a problem if he happens to use a Hi-Lighter or ink pen to write notes.

The book has a great 'day by day' format and at the end of each section, is a 'suggested reading' of that particular section! It is amazing! My husband was very happy to receive this book and was very happy to get started on reading. He says the book is easy to read and each section is short and to the point. The chapters give you short questions to think about while/after you read. There are small parts that give you a few short 'need to know facts'.

In the back of the book there are a few pages that give reading suggestions: Read the Bible in a year, Read the Bible in 60 days, One with God, Famous battles in the Bible, Unknown People of the Bible.

Overall, a SUPER great book! Couldn't have gave my husband a better Bible!
Amazing for my deployed soldier!

I received this Devotional Bible as a gift, have been reading it daily for the last year and a half and, now that I have a Kindle, I couldn't wait to get an electronic version.

The daily readings are neither too short nor too long and they are thought-provoking as well as applicable to my daily life. Each devotion starts with one Bible passage and then several additional recommended Bible readings. All of the devotions are written in casual, everyday language and many are written by well-known theologians.

You will not go wrong with this devotional Bible!

I was having trouble finding a devotional Bible that spoke to me and I had a copy of the old NIV Men's Devotional Bible that I was not terribly impressed with. The new one fixed most of the things that bothered me about the old version. First, very few of the devotional articles have the author's name stamped all over them right there on the page. There is a reference section in the back that gives a short biography of the article authors if you choose to look it up, which is as it should be in my mind. Each devotional article has questions that accompany it to stimulate thought and help me to examine my own life instead of just reading passively about someone else's. I find the questions to be quite helpful. The call-outs are useful because they give you an at-a-glance jolt here and there, so that, even if you are just flipping through, you are likely to get something out of it. There are several reading plans in the back and I like these as well. They are not just about reading through the Bible in a year or getting an overview in 30 days. There are other topics that several reading plans have been designed for. I like the overall format, color choice, and especially the cover. The whole thing has been "modernized" to fit today's man, which I appreciate a lot. This is definitely a Bible I do not leave home without!
