I helped develop a study for New Christians at my church in Texas seven years ago. We used the NIV Starting Point Study Bible as our designated Bible for the class. We found it the most helpful Bible for new Christians available on the market, and even to this day it remains true. Over 1300 people attended our study over 5 years.

Now, I find myself as a contractor for the war on terror in Iraq. Many combat soldiers here are becoming Christians, and people back home are sending copies of the NIV Starting Point Bible for the soldiers at the Chapel services. A number of soldiers who are not Christians are asking for the 'blue' Bibles the other soldiers are carrying around. The introduction of the Starting Point Bible includes a presentation of how to become a Christian, so it becomes a great witnessing tool for soldiers looking for answers. Other new Christian soldiers are getting the study Bibles for their bunk-mates and sharing with them how they can find Christ also. The Starting Point Bible will be an invaluable tool for these soldiers as they usually have a good amount down time.

This Bible is a great addition to any care package headed for the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan...

This is a wonderful bible. It has a great format. It is so easy to read and understand. It tells you at the beginning of each book, who wrote it where they wrote it. It is great for new christians who are looking for a place to start. I have a friend that is a longtime faithful christian and she also fell in love with my new bible. It is not big , perfect to carry to church, beautiful navy blue cover, and the outside of the pages and silver. I recommend this highly.

I'm 18 and was "saved" back in 1995 and never really did my part to see to it that I had a relationship with God. I never read the Bible, never felt anything, and had been through some things with certain Christians that made me really turned off by them. But this year, I felt lost and couldn't figure out why. Everything was going great for me, but for some reason I felt depressed. Then out of nowhere I discovered that my Dad had been having an affair for more than 2 years and my parents were getting divorced after 20+ years of marriage. It came as a total shock. But what's even more sad is that it took my parents splitting up to realize that was we all were missing in life was GOD. I came across this Bible at a most unlikely place- our State Fair- and I've finally found what I've been needing. This Bible is unitimidating, well organized, and has really made it easier for me to understand what the Word of God is saying. Every new or recommited Christian should check it out.

Great for study . Or just to read again . Also has mini topics included which are great for thought and reflection.

This bible is an excellant way to read, study and learn the scriptures. It truly helps make The Word come alive. Great book for beginners as well as those wanting to re-read this great story. The extra information and notations written are not only great guidelines but offer some invaluable suggestions and advice. Highly recommend!

I previously used the NIV Quest study bible, and while that is a good book, this version better suited my needs. Studying the bible is not simple task, it is a very complex book for one unfamiliar with Christian terms and language. This book takes some of the guesswork out of that by including a glossary of highlighted key terms, life topics, reading plans, and a concordance. Thank you Luis Palau for helping to facilitate spiritual growth for the "young" in Christ.

After recommitting to the Lord, I found this Bible and its just what I needed.

Easy to hold, great format. I love the NIV translation, it flows and the stories come alive. The notes and devotions throughout do a great job of applying scriptures to my daily living. I recommend it for any new Christians, or even long time Christians looking for a new Bible.

Nice size (on the biggish end) and extensive notes in the back. There aren't as many in-text contextual boxes as, for example, the "study bible", but they relate the bible to modern-day life.

I'm a teenager and I became Christian not even a year ago. I was looking for a bible that could break down some parts of the bible with stories to further enhance my understanding and this bible was PERFECT. In the back of the bible it shows you multiple ways of studying. It gives you checklists so you can keep track of how much you read & multiple methods of studying such as a chapter in the old testament and a chapter in the new testament for 2 years, book by book or the 30 path study guide.

My FAVORITE part is that there's a "30-path study guide" in the back of this Bible that helps with those topics Christians go through really often such as Trials, the Enemy, Hearing God's Voice,Prayer, the differences between the Father Son and Holy Spirit,etc. It shows you the verses to read from and has a little article on it afterwards to help you understand it better and the articles are not opinion based. They refer a lot back to verses in other parts of the Bible.

Now there's so much to study from that's interesting that at times I don't even know where to start but that's where the 30-path guide works out well. Under each category there's individual topics and whatever I go through that day, I look up whatever it is. It's easy and very good for beginners in the bible.

It also has a Bible dictionary/concordance and maps of where the events in the bible took place.

GREAT BIBLE! STRONGLY RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN GOD'S WORD!

A freind of mine has one of these Study Bibles and after looking it over, i knew it was the one for me. There are several different Bible Studies in the back of the book so I can choose the right one for me. They also have stories that help you understand what the scripture means and the stories give you more scriptures so you can dig even deeper into the word. I am so happy with this Bible. Other people I know that have one said that it is so easy for them to understand too.
