About the Author

Lawrence O. Richards has served as an editor and writer at Scripture Press Publications; as an educator who has taught at colleges and seminaries as diverse as Wheaton, Princeton, and Talbot; and as a full-time author and speaker. Dr. Richards is the author of some 200 works. His publications with Zondervan include Children's Ministry, Christian Education, Church Leadership, and the New International Encyclopedia of Bible Words (Zondervan Understand the Bible Reference series). His specialty Bibles include the best-selling Adventure Bible for children, and The Teen Study Bible, done with his wife, Sue. Dr. Richards and his wife live in Hudson, Florida.

I have been working with my local youth group for over 6 years now. I would say that as far as what is available for teenagers this is the best Bible out there right now. The NIV translation is widely read and so that can benefit their understanding. Also, the topics they highlight through out the Bible are the ones I often have teenagers ask me about.

To improve it I would include a list of about 50 recommended passages for teenagers to read to give them a good overview of the Bible. Most people don't know where to start when they pick up the Bible so it would be helpful to give them some direction.
