This is a great collection of both groups greatest hits as well as the two new songs (Don't Turn Out The Lights and All In My Mind) plus the Mashup that was done on New Years Eve! Not all NKOTB fans are familiar with BSB songs and vice versa, this allows fans of each group to get familiar with the other groups songs in time for the upcoming summer tour. Love it!

I'm not one who gets really excited over album releases and I don't follow that many bands. However, as a product of the 80's, the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys are two bands that I do enjoy. When I first heard about this album, I thought it had to be great. I expected original content and maybe even some of the 'classics' sung by the guys today with a few tweaks.

This NKOTBSB album is not what I expected at all and I'm very disappointed in it. Yes, I love the original songs, but I already own those on CD. Plus, the guys are pushing that they're older, not kids anymore, but this album still has little Joey McIntyre singing 'Please Don't Go Girl'. In a perfect world, this album would have been a concert album-- with cuts of various songs sung live during a concert, or at the very least, would have had updated takes on the songs.

This gets two stars from me. The two stars are for the two original tracks and the mash up track. Those three tracks are definite keepers. The others? I already have them and don't really need them... If you are looking to introduce a youngling to the 'boy band' era, this is a fine CD. If you are a NKOTB or BSB fan, you've heard much of this album already.

This CD 'NKOTBSB' is part of the musical journey the bands started when they had a great reception of joint performances at Radio City Music Hall in June 2010 & American Music Awards. Fans of both bands have voted for the 10 tracks (5 tracks from each band) included in this CD. One my have liked/preferred other tracks but the majority have spoken (the tracks are mainly their earlier hits) & the bands have added 3 great tracks "All In My Head", "Don't Turn Out The Light (D.T.O.T.L.) & "NKOTBSB Mashed Up". They have started in May 2011 with a nation-wide tour & this CD will be 'the foundation' of the tour (expectation from fans as well as promoting this album). Hopefully other material not covered in this CD will complement this CD, making a more compltete picture of the bands' material over the years (large discographies than the CD presents). This joint tour is a great innovation which is likely to produce great fruits for both the bands & their loyals fans. This CD is thus a great accompaniment to the national tour, a highly recommended CD listening.

If you are a fan of both the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block, this is a great album that includes greatest hits and provides two new songs that both groups sing together. The mashup is a great mix of the best of both bands coming together. As for the rest of the songs, you will find there is nothing new or surprising, just the same greatest hits that the fans voted to have put on this shared album. As a fan, I will admit to being disappointed that the old songs were not re-recorded. I would love to have a studio quality version of Please Don't Go Girl with an adult Joey McIntyre singing as he does these days in concert. However, given logistics involved with a super-group of nine and the limited time available to get the album out before the summer tour, I realize my "wish list" for such an album may be unrealistic. Here's to hoping a summer tour DVD or live album is in the future.

I had the good fortune of being able to attend a concert during the summer of 2011 that featured both the New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys. I can recall many of the songs on this cd that were featured at the concert. "Step by Step", "You Got It (The Right Stuff), "As Long As You Love Me", and "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) are some of my personal favorites on this cd. The songs on this cd are actually the radio versions and are best for those who like 80's/90's pop music, the New Kids On The Block, and/or the Backstreet Boys.

I've been a longtime Backstreet Boys fan and while I may have been too young growing up to remember who the New Kids on the Block were, even I was excited for this supergroup: NKOTBSB. In a way, the Backstreet Boys owes some of their success to the New Kids for paving the road for all future boy bands, but it was really the Backstreet Boys that pushed the phenomenon of boy bands in America. With so many hit singles from 1997-2001 like "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely," "I Want it That Way," "All I Have to Give," "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)," "As Long As You'll Love Me," "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," "Larger Than Life," "Shape of My Heart," "The Call," "More Than That," "The One," "Drowning," and "Incomplete" (which was released in 2005); the Boys were king of pop love ballads. No boy band could do it better than they did when it came to singing live and singing in harmony. The nostalgic memories of my teen-hood is rushing over me and while I'm not as familiar with NKOTB's music, I have heard some of their hit singles like "Hangin' Tough," "Right Stuff," and "Step by Step," with the latter two being recently introduced to ... so I'm interested to hear what else NKOTB has to offer as they join forces with the Backstreet Boys.

Their first collaborative single, "Don't Turn Out the Lights" has the potential to be a smash hit given airplay and it's a great blend of 90s pop and current pop music. Catchy and light, with a fun beat, this song should be a great summer hit if mainstream radio gives it a chance.

Otherwise, this album might be a waste of money for longtime BSB and NKOTB fans as there is only 3 songs they collaborate on. All other songs on the albums are just singles from their respective hits in the past.
