4.0 out of 5 stars A very wierd game..but worth the trip. January 3, 2010
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Noby Noby Boy is a...unique game.

You play as BOY, a worm like creature who eats and stretches for GIRL, a larger female world creature who stretches around the galaxy. The more BOY stretches, the more GIRL can and wrap herself around other planets. This process in whole is a community metagame where every single BOY's (Players) stretch count is added to GIRL. The more people play, the more planets GIRL can get to, and the more places GIRL can get to, the more weird levels BOY can play around in.

The controls are very easy, mainly using the dual analog sticks to control each end of BOY and the shoulder buttons to hop and eat almost anything in the crazy levels, which are filled with insane things. If you played any of the Katamari Damacy games, you might be used to this sort of thing! The game also includes an offline multiplayer mode where up to 4 BOYS can stretch around to their heart's content on one screen. (Player 1 controls the incredible but hard to master camera.)

Overall, NOBY NOBY BOY is a very weird, but oddly charming game, and worth the 5 just experience the weirdness yourself. The game includes leaderboards as well as a screenshot taking tool and a direct Youtube upload feature where you can share your stretching techniques or something incredibly odd with others on Youtube easily.

+ Odd & charming
+ Awesome community features (Youtube & Leaderboard support, screenshot tool)
= Getting more levels to play around in is a community process, and may take a while
- The charm may not be for everyone.
- Camera may take some getting used to.

5.0 out of 5 stars best 5 dollars i ever spent February 21, 2010
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
NobyNobyBoy is possibly the only game in which there is an option to control the volume of your farts.
...seriously.

there is no purpose to it really, in fact, i like to turn it on and use this game as a background instead of watching TV or playing music while i do something else like read a book or talk or whatever, since BOY will just walk around on his own if you don't touch the controller for 10 seconds.

watch some youtube videos of NobyNobyBoy to see what the heck this actually is... but even then it makes very little sense.
maybe that's the beauty of it, you make of it as you see fit.

and it's only $4.99! that's less than $5.12!

3.0 out of 5 stars Noby Noby Boy Review May 1, 2011
Noby Noby Boy is what it is, and what it is is more sandbox than game. In this game you control the worm-like "Boy", and your goal is to devour everything in sight and grow as long as possible. and then report your length to "Girl", a giant worm-creature growing (based on the reported lengths of all online players) out across the solar system and perhaps beyond, unlocking new stages for anyone who owns the game as she goes. This is a cool mechanic, but the gameplay on each stage is essentially exactly the same as the others, the only thing that changes (slightly) is the stuff you're eating. This gets repetitive fast.

This game was created by the creator of Katamari Damacy, and the main idea behind the gameplay of Noby Noby Boy is similar: grow bigger by eating stuff (or in Katamari Damacy, rolling over stuff).

I must say that Katamari Damacy just plain does it better and with much more joy. Noby Noby Boy is cute and goofy and all, but it does not match the goofiness and joy and fun of Katamari Damacy. Noby Noby Boy functions merely as novelty in one's game library, and while it is fun to show friends for a few minutes, it can start to get old fast. It's a sandbox game that's good for a quick dose of wackiness if you need one, but nothing really substantial beyond that.
