No meal is less appreciated than breakfast. Great Chefs peer down their inflated nostrils at this pedestrian repast. The French think that anything more than a croissant and cafe au lait in the morning is barbarous. The Japanese take it a bit more seriously, but with relatively little variety. Anyone who's eaten breakfast at Norma's in New York City (or Palm Springs) has probably woken up many a morning hankering after one of its memorable, and usually decadent, dishes. They probably also have marveled over the extensive and creative menu. I know I've spent many minutes agonizing over whether to order a new, delicious-sounding item or stick with an old standby that I've come to know and love.
Well, now you don't have to choose. Norma's cookbook puts the recipes of its 18 most popular dishes in your hands. With attitude! Just looking at the pictures and reading the captions of the characters paired with each dish is a delight. Take my word for it, if you're a fan of breakfast you need to buy this book!
