Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

It's plain impossible to get a seal with flexible fabric.
Avery
Despite having, what I believe, is an average size mans nose on my face, I found that the filters are not an adequate size to filter air at nasal passages.

I read the complains about 'too small' before buying, but thought that maybe they would still work.

They do block particles from entering your nostrils and my allergies have subsided after I enter grassy areas. Please don't listen to the people who are complaining that they have to inhale harder. Use common sense. You're filtering incoming air from two small pipes (your nostrils). What did you expect? For me, it covers most of the opening inside my nostrils and I got used to the breathing after a session of running.

One drawback - these are not reusable for long. A single set I had lasted through 2-3 washes (not weeks) and I had to replace it with the second set. The repeated washing wears away the filter paper and makes it dusty/ticklish when you put it in your nose. In effect, it becomes a haven for what you're trying to avoid - particles.

This was my situation: every time I went to play soccer on the outside, over grass surfaces, the next day I had a very strong allergic reaction in the form of acute nasal secretions. I know now I suffer from Hay Fever, and the grass pollen kills me when I am exposed to it for long times. All I can say is that after using this product in combination with First defense nasal screens while playing soccer, I do not develop any of the symptoms. So it seems to work for me. I have no tried them by separate, but they should work. Since these are nasal filters, I first thought that exposure to pollen through other routes (oral or skin) will be enough to start my reaction, but it didn't (don't know the reason). Just beware of the filter sizes, since they are kind of small.

Like many others who have bought these, I have allergies. The kind of allergies where I sneeze so hard and so many times that there are parts of the day where I am incapable of speech. Sadly, I am not finding these to be as helpful where allergies are concerned, but that wasn't my primary reason for buying these.

I bought these for odors, odors like aftershave, perfume, laundry soap, air fresheners and cigarette smoke. I have a terrible reaction to smells like these (migraines, nausea, sore itchy throat) and I was hoping these in-nose filters would help 'level down' these migraine triggering smells. They didn't. In fact, I don't think they filtered smells at all. I could still smell the smoke of the people standing near me at the bike rack as I locked up (why do smokers hang out by the bike racks?) and the filters were slightly irritating to me (probably because I've been pretty sneezy and runny nose'ish for about a month now).

So with the purpose of this purchase not working out, I thought I'd give them a try on the allergen front. So I went outside to clean up the patio area for a party we are throwing this weekend. There was a lot of sweeping to be done, I sneezed, coughed and itched having to remove the filters several times to facilitate sneezing (imagine the filters exploding from your nose during a sneeze, gross, huh?).

Then there was some more dust and pollen to deal with as I windex'ed the outdoor chairs and table, dislodged a family of spiders from the grill and found my son's missing yoyo covered by leaves under a chair, by this point I was so congested and my nose was so painful, that I had to remove the filters.

I'm willing to try these filters out again, perhaps on a less pollen-y task, like a walk to the park or a backyard picnic.

I read the complains about 'too small' before buying, but thought that maybe they would still work. Nope. These things are tiny. In my case they fit width, but length would need to be at least twice what its is. AND they seem to be fairly hard to breath through considering I noticed it even WITH a pencil sized gap left!

If you've got a small and round nostril - maybe. If you've got a normal to large sized or oblong nostril, forget about it.

Those nose filters and junk. They're the right size for infants. WAY too small for anyone else. Very unsatisfied. :-( If it didn't cost anything, I'd send them back.

These nasal filters were the first that I bought. While they were pretty comfortable and much better than having to wear a full mask, there just was not enough information to know how to care for them (wash or clean), how long they can be used, etc. They seemed to do pretty well filtering, but did work their way down the nasal canals after a while and had to be repositioned.

I have found these to help with basic particles and dander that irritate my nose. They could be a bit larger but work ok for me.
