I own every Video Game console ever made. I am a huge collector and I work in the video game industry for over 15 years. I was a Huge Nintendo Fan Boy from back in the day of Donkey Kong and Mario Bros.
Every system has its shining moments that make them worth buying or offer something the others don’t
I always buy Console Exclusive Games and would buy Cross Platform games on the system I used the most. That was until Xbox Live 13 years ago. I went from buying all my Cross platform games for the PS2 to Xbox if they were online games only for the Xbox due to Xbox Live.
Once again the Xbox 360 although not superior graphically with the improvement of Xbox Live made it the go to system although I still loved my PS3 for the exclusive titles Sony’s online services suck.
Fast forward to the Xbox One. At launch it was far from perfect with a lot of issues. But Xbox Live is what drew me to use this as my main stay. My PS4 once again is used only for Exclusives because the online services are just not up to snuff with Microsoft.
A lot of people were angry and despised not having an option of having a Kinect-less system. It was something that the 360 had at launch of having an HDD or not to save money. I hated the Kinect for the 360 it was a great Idea on paper but was just not possible with due to cost effectiveness and technology. The new Kinect is amazing and I am sad that support of it is falling to the wayside. It is the one thing I use the most on the Xbox One. From being able to tell it to switch to Netflix from telling it to record game clips. My wife will be in our bedroom trying to tell the TV or Blu-ray player commands and nothing happens and she says “why can’t everything be like Xbox Kinect?

Try fitting your size 12 foot into a size 9 sneaker, all the while running a marathon that you ran many times before without a problem. My hand has been hurting for two days now after playing (BF4) for a couple of hours. My first Xbox Beta had the DDOD issue and the second Beta Box One has a limp power cord connection. Called Msft and mentioned all the BS I have gone through for years with them and it continues with their next gen Beta Box. Offered me nothing except looking online at the forums and contacting Amazon....I was also mad that I could not find BF4 MP server to play on. I was told the Beta Box One could only handle 1000 people at a time!!!!! BF4 sold millions of copies! I can't wait until the cluster muck Beta Box One is out of my home!

Most households have smart tv's or smart Blu ray players the really didn't do anything good with this box save your money by a PS4 I haven't had a playstation since the first one came out. I have all three xboxes , games look like the 360. you have to wait and hour for each game you have to install game won't play unless you install. If you don't use the kinect most of the functions won't work practically none will work. They took away all the best of the 360 and put crappy windows 8 in it. No recent player list, hard to add a friend I wanted to give it a chance but wish I had returned it and I'm a gamer. The one good thing that came out of the one is the headset should have been redesigned for the xbox 360

Day One edition was a brick. Replacement received today and after went through update would not turn on again. Zero - Dead. Microsoft support did call back very quickly (better than day one) but was a guy from apps and games but gave me direct line to hardware. And said need to return AGAIN! No complaints with Amazon. Instead of a maybe 3 weeks return/repair Amazon got me a replacement in 3 days. Not Amazon fault the system is a brick. But so not happy! So don't want to switch to Ps4 but considering.

smooth seemless transitions are the future and this console has that and more. if you are strapped for cash, you can hold off until march. If you want to choose a console right now, decide if you want a larger game library now and more confirmed games in the future or the pricepoint. once you start using the kinect effectively, it really does feel like you are in the future

I have had absolutely no issues whatsoever with my Xbox One. The packaging is very professional and it protects the contents inside the box more than adequately. When I initially set-up my system, it required an internet connection, and it installed an update. The dashboard on the Xbox One definitely has a Windows 8 feel to it, what with the "tiles" and what not (though I will say that it is odd at first, several months down the road, navigating the Xbox One dashboard is seamless and is almost second nature). The Xbox One has great performance specifications and will continue to impress for a very long time to come. The improved Kinect is also very cool. Almost everything you do on the Xbox One can be done by voice command, and it is very user friendly. The unit itself is sleek and modern looking - and feels very well built and solid. Microsoft wants this to be pretty much an "all in one" media unit in people's living room. There is a HDMI passthrough built in to the Xbox One, which means that you can run other HDMI components through the Xbox One and to your TV (ie. Cable boxes, blu-ray players, etc.). There are a limited number of games out for the Xbox One at the moment, but obviously this will continue to change as time goes on. I will say, though, that for the games I have played, the graphics are stunning, and so is the fact that games can maintain such a high frame rate regardless of how much stuff is going on in the game (check out Dead Rising 3). I recommend this entertainment system to anyone that could be in the market for one. You won't regret it!
