My two sons (ages 6 and 8) and I had much fun reading this--they were already fans of pirate lore with pirate Legos and who love to dress up and play pirates in the braken. You'll love it too, and besides, boys need more literature with fun, fantasy, silliness, and adventure!

The story is about Fred, Sam and Joe, stuck on an island. Pirate Blackbeard comes and takes them captive on his ship. When they are on the ship it is attacked. Blackbeard sees Fred, Sam, and Joe hiding behind barrels. Fred, Sam and Joe decide to help Blackbeard because if they didn' t they might not live. The cannon was pointing towards the ship so they all pulled it up and saved the ship. I liked the book because of the characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes pirates. I liked Fred, Sam and Joe climbed into the trees and threw coconuts at each other. I liked when people buried treasure. by Tommy Currier

We think the book,the Time Warp Trio The Not So Jolly Roger is funny and packed with adventure.In this story the three boys Joe,Fred,and Sam go in the magic book in the time of Black Beard the pirate. In the beginning they see a ship with three big cannons aimed right at them.The boys hurry up and climb coconut trees to escape.From the top they spy Black Beard on the ship.Trying to get down,they get stuck in the trees. After they get down from the trees, the three boys see Black Beard and his treasure. Two of the pirates were going to take it, but Black Beard saw them and shot them. Black Beard then thought the trio were going to try and steal his treasure.
Will the boys ever find the book and get home? If you want to find out, read this book.

This book is awesome and funny. It is about the magical book called THE BOOK that Joe got from his uncle Joe. THE BOOK can teleport Joe and his friends, Sam and Fred, to places long times ago. Every time they teleport some place, they lose THE BOOK and have to find it to get home. I like the adventures, and their arguments are really funny. My favorite character is Sam. He always acts like he is not in trouble when he is in BIG trouble. My least favorite character is Blackbeard. All he says is HA-HA-HA-HA and I MUST FIND THE TREASURE. Also, I don't get the point why Blackbeard always has the need to shoot people. This book isn't as good as Knights Of The Kitchen table because it has a little less action. But, I'd say get this book no matter what.

Sam is the thinker, Joe is a baseball player and the last guy is kinda like Sam too.
This was a very good book. I recommend it.
Blackbeard Joe has a bad voice and he cannot carry a tune.

It all starts out with someone I really would call a "Not so Jolly Roger." They have pistols, daggars and lots of cool weapons in this book. (Violent). Something always goes wrong-wich always happens in books-of course. Get this book or I'll be "The not so Jolly Roger."

I liked The not so Jolly Roger becuase it was a mystery and I love myseries. My favorite part was when Fred was reading a book and Fred got sucked into one of the pages. The not so Jolly roger could be better by taking out the part when a pirate shoots his mates after they got done buring the treasure they found. Iread the story becuase in the first book of the series, it was really interesting,so it made me think The not so Jolly Roger was going to be interesting.

This is the third one of Jon Scieszka, Lane Smith's creations which my daughter (8 yrs. old) and I have read. I recommend this book because it is another story which is pleasurable and captivating. Fred, Joe and Sam are fun characters to read about. Our only negative thought about the book was the epilogue. Good try with providing this info, but as my daughter said "dad I don't get it." I could tell she did not grasp why this was here.

I really like the Time Warp Trio series. My Grandma Kathy gave me books #1 through #10 for my birthday. So far, they have been very interesting and FUN to read! I am hoping that my younger brother and sister will enjoy them as much as I do.

This story is about three boys who are transported back in time to Blackbeard's days after reading a book. I would recommend this book to people who like pirates and action. The battle with the two groups of pirates was very exciting. The author also made the character of Blackbeard extremely funny and interesting. I never knew if he was happy or angry! I wondered until the very end how the boys were going to get back into their own time.
