I have been looking for an inexpensive natural product for my "getting older" mostly oily/combination skin. I am at the point where I need to fight wrinkles from happening, but also having to still fight blemishes every now and then. I have read so many great things about Jojoba oil, that I finally decided to purchase some. I figured even if it didn't work out well for me, I could still use it as a carrier oil for my essential oil blends, and to amp up my hair conditioner, so it would definately get used one way or another.

MY EXPERIENCE: I was a bit nervous as I applied the few drops to my face (after I prewashed with Nature's Plus - Tea Tree Skin Care Soap, 4 oz, 3 packs, and I typically use Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System, 0.68-Fluid Ounce to deep clean and exfoliate several times a week). My face was still damp, and I applied about 3 or 4 drops to my fingers, then rubbed it in. I rinsed my face with very warm water, then patted it dry with a towel, then got ready for bed. Within a few minutes, my face didn't feel at all oily, just smooth and supple. Now, prior to application, I had 2 blemishes. I went to bed and the next day, my skin felt great; it felt clean, not oily and still soft. When I looked in the mirror, I noticed my blemishes were already beginning to heal and go away. They were GONE within 3 days, just faded away. Since that first day, I have been using this oil daily for about a week.

I don't know whether jojoba oil should smell like fish. The one i got sure does. May be it's too old? I smelled a few jojoba oils in the vitamine shoppe when I was there last time, all of those had a pleasant smell (or no smell at all). This one is strange, I am not sure I will keep using it.

I swear by coconut oil and shea butter. I mix them together and use them all over my body. I also mix them for my husband and children. I had not used jojoba oil since I was a child and recently purchased this product to round out my carrier oil collection.

Overall, I am sooo glad I purchased this. It is lighter than olive oil but smoother than coconut oil. It mixes well and is not heavy. Most importantly, it blends well with other oils and butters. It helps to preserve my curly ends and adds moisture to my homemade spritz sprays. This is one of the few oils with molecules small enough to enter the hair shaft or be absorbed into skin. I would definitely recommend this product to those looking to add a light, moisturizing oil to their regimen.

I have ordered Now Foods Jojoba Oil in the past and it is supposed to be odorless. This product was rancid and the color was not as dark as usual. It almost looked as if it had been mixed with another type of oil.

I read all the reviews on this product...I didn't believe half of them. Makes skin soft , pores smaller , hair light and silky, clears acne , helps with skin rashes. These claims were UNBELIEVEABLE in my book . So I got Jojoba oil , almond oil , and rose hips. Bought a dropper bottle also, mixed 1/3 of each into this eye dropper bottle . Have used it for THREE days and have found myself eating crow! I have put it on my face , and body and sparling on my hair and have seen the same results as the rest of the reveiwers. Skin soft , acne and dark spots disappearing , pores actually smaller and less oil shine on my face , and a glow on my skin that has not been there in years (I'm in my fifty's). I've used it straight and mixed with other lotions. On my face I've mixed it with "Yes" cucumber lotion. I am looking forward to winter this year knowing I will not have that dry flaky oily skin. I have found something that can tackle all my skin problems in one bottle...I am very happy with these products. Delivery was speedy , products wrapped tightly , and had a dropper plug in each. If you have had a terrible time finding lotion for your sensitive skin , concider a natural way...

Jojoba oil is great. It won't clog pores (it actually cleans them -- long term it's better than biore strips), it absorbs quickly into the skin, and it protects your skin from drying all day.

Some brands are highly refined and purified. When you research on-line you'll see that the oil is often described as colorless and odorless. That's not the case with the NOW brand.

NOW is a little more natural. While it's not totally refined, it's still pretty stable stuff. It should have a shelf life equivalent to canola oil (and I've never actually experienced rancid or stale canola oil).

Being more natural, it's not completely odorless. It's not an entirely good smell. It's a little smoky, a little funky. Kind of like a cross between bacon and patchouli. But it's pretty mild so you'll notice it when you squirt it into your hand and start rubbing it in but you probably won't smell it much after you've rubbed it in. And others won't notice it on you. I don't find it all that offensive anyway. I put a little cologne on after I'm done and I think the smell fades into the background in a very pleasant way.

HOWEVER... Some people posess a genetic variation that makes them sensitive to certain compounds in jojoba oil. To them, it smells like rotten fish. Fortunately, this is a very small minority of the population. And if you are one of them you might already know who you are because perhaps cooking oil smells the same way to you.
