These are great for people who want to enjoy the taste and benefits of sunflower seeds without adding extra salt to your diet. I am very careful about my sodium (salt) intake. These are unsalted, as well as hulled. I use them for cooking, but you could eat them right out of the bag. I have only found pieces of shell on about 4 occasions. I suggest you take a quick look at them in the pan before adding additional ingredients to check for the occasional shell that may sneak through. I add about 30 seeds to a meal, and the one pound bag lasts about 3 weeks. I have always recieved fresh, good seeds. I am a repeat buyer of this product.

The seeds are just wonderful! Very fresh and crisp. They are the perfect addition to the trail mix I am making. They are a great snack too.

I found this exact item (same ounce size) locally for 1/4th the price and there are no pieces of the hull.

Fresh tasty healthy seeds. Just what I needed for my recipe. I have to watch blood sugar so I can't have candy. It's killing me so I found a way to cheat and have chocolate without the extra calories and blood sugar spikes. I use whole dates, raisins, coconut flakes, raw sunflower seeds, and raw cacao powder (unsweetened raw cocoa poweder)and just a touch of honey to get it to make a dough in the food processer. Put everything but the seeds in a food processor and make it into a big mashed lump, then use a mixing paddle or dough hook on your mixer and blend in your sunflower seeds. Roll into balls and store in the fridge. It tastes just like a choclate candy ball with nuts. It's high in vitamins, fiber, antioxidants. The fruit sugars in dates and raisins are the equivalent of a serving of fruit in one 2 inch ball. I feel like I'm cheating! You can't taste raisins or dates... just chewy chocolate!!! It's not very high in calories either. I'll probably get this again if my Whole Foods runs out of sunflowers again.

For those people who don't understand what RAW means with sunflower seeds... they have no salt and they are not crunchy. It can be kind of bland to people who eat roasted salted seeds. You get tons of fiber, vitamins and healthy oils from these seeds. You can't get that from roasted salted seeds.

I tried these sunflower seeds and, unfortunately, they caused me an allergic reaction! I have NEVER had an allergic reaction to sunflower seeds. The seeds tasted fine, as I expected. I am only allergic to milk and almonds, so this is possibly cross-contaminated with one of those. (I'm thinking almonds.) So be aware of this if you order these.

Nobody else in my household liked these because they lacked salt, but that is not what I bought them for. They are a healthy alternative to the salty seed version.

These are great - I plan to use them for eating plain as is, on salads, for baking and also to make sprouts with. The price was very reasonable.

These are very small and a light tannish color. They are not at all like the ones I used to grow in my back yard. I tasted a spoonful of these seeds and had to spit them back out. They were the epitome of staleness. I expected tasty seeds based on the super high price but these are a loser. I guess I will have to go back to growing my own.

I put this bag of seeds into my bird feeders and during this unusually cold freeze and lots of snow there are more birds hanging around the feeders then I have seen in years. They are not as picky as I am and they gobbled up the seeds in a NY minute. I give the seeds an extra star because the birds ate them all up. These seeds are clearly not worth the price and especially not for bird food. I buy 35 pound bags of black sunflower seed at BJ's for around 30 bucks and the birds love them. Don't buy these stale Now Foods seeds.

As someone who is starting to work on a healthier life style, these have been a great addition to my daily snacks. It was a little different getting use to eating unsalted sunflower seeds but after awhile it no longer bothered me, especially knowing that unsalted was a much better alternative. The taste is good and fresh. The price is reasonable but shipping does add a bit. ($2.99) But that's the price of online shopping I suppose. I've found no hulls at all but there were a few burnt pieces. Nothing note worthy really but thought I'd add that. As for how much you get, I've had about a handful every few days for about a month and have somewhat below a half of bag left.

Definitely plan on buying more in the future!

Good, high value sunflower seeds. Now is great source for hard-to-find raw, unsalted seeds, nuts. In my area of USA, I cannot find raw, unsalted nuts so Now on Amazon is practically my only source. Recently, I fell off my vegan diet but plan to start again and will purchase more food products like these sunflower seeds from Now. Only complaint is I can never get these resealable bags to complete seal - maybe it's just me! The packaging is pretty high quality, will not burst like other plastic bags. Good product.
