NUK 1 Pack Genius Silicone BPA Free Pacifier, 18 Months , Colors May Vary

We were looking for a size 3 silicone pacifier, but the more traditional NUKs only come in latex when you get to size 3. After using the size 1 and 2 silicone NUKs, we wanted to stick with silicone for two reasons. 1. We just like the look. 2. More importantly, we wanted to be able differentiate them from our niece's size 3 NUKs when they're at Grandma's everyday. The new Genius NUKs seem a bit nicer than the traditional NUKs in a couple ways. Our favorite thing is that they don't seems as prone to getting moisture inside. They do drop out a little easier than the others, which we attribute to the thinner design of the nipple. (We actually don't mind this aspect as it does seem to discourage use throughout the day.) She has no problems with them at night. In general, the more streamlined design leaves fewer places for 'crud' to accumulate. Our only complaint, Amazon won't let you choose the colors when ordering. We ended up with a relatively even number of lavender, green, blue, and orange when ordering 8.

I was looking for a nuk pacifier for a child 18 months and older. I have never seen the regular (orthodontic)nuk pacifier in silicone for a child older than 18 months. My daughter accepted it easily even though it was a different shape. I like the silicone material better than the latex.

I used a Playtex Binky with my first child. He loved it and we had to "leave" it on a cruise ship to wean him when he was 2. However, his teeth are a little crooked still and he is 4 years old. Hoping the permanent teeth will not follow the same path or we will have an major orthodontic bill. HA. This pacifier came on the market when my second child was born. I am pro pacifier since my first child suffered from stage 4 gasto-reflux and the sucking seemed to soothe him. I decided I wanted to try a new one and since there were so many options I just bought the most expensive one thinking as with most other baby products, I'd end up using cheaper versions and spending more money just to end up at the most expensive product anyway. This one stuck immediately. She is 14 months now and only uses it at night, but we still use them. I am protective of them as they do cost more. My only complaint would be if I had another boy, the stores tend to carry more girl colors. I recently bought three more through Amazon with a book to get free shipping, but I typically find mine at Buy Buy Baby and use a $5 coupon off $15 purchase for those looking for a discount.

My 2 year old is being weened off of pacifiers, so ideally, he only uses them at naptime and at night. I hate those brown rubber ones - they have a weird rubbery smell and they never feel clean. I had a heck of a time trying to find a silicone pacifier for kids over 18 months. These are the only ones I could find, but I really do like them. The shape is unique and the silicone part is very thin so he doesn't have this huge thing in his mouth. Also, it slips out once he falls asleep because it is so thin, which is a good thing too. You don't get to choose your colors, so we ordered 4 and got 2 lavender, a peach and a mint green - they are all fairly girly colors, but he doesn't use them outside of the house, so we don't mind.

We bought 1 of these, and I'm divided about it. Most importantly, it's a size 3 silicone pacifier, and I can't find those ANYWHERE. Why does Gerber make size 3 latex pacis but not silicone? It's completely baffling to me.

I have two main issues with this pacifier. First, it has a very different mouthfeel from the original nuks. This is a pretty big issue with older kids--my son has been using the same pacifiers for 18 months, and he wasn't particularly pleased when I gave him a new one. Now, an enterprising parent could potentially use this to wean their child. But I don't particularly care about weaning my child right now. He mostly uses his paci in the car or when he's asleep, and I'm not concerned about weaning him from that. I'm especially not concerned about weaning him when he's shrieking in the car and I don't have the option of stopping and cuddling him to calm him down.

Second, these pacifiers are TWICE the price of the original nuk pacis. Why? I can't for the life of me figure out what makes these pacifiers so much better. Each paci still might only be $5, but pacis disappear faster than socks in our house and money is pretty tight in our house. It adds up.

I was so excited about a pacifier for 18mo+, but unfortunately it didn't work for us. We've been using the Avent pacifiers and the nipple shape is so different, that our son wouldn't suck on it but would just chew on it or try to suck on it upside down. Also a bummer that the color we received was purple. This would probably have worked out great if our previous pacifiers were a similar shape.

The only pacifier my daughter will use, and now it's not carried in any stores near me, so I had to order off of amazon.

My son, since birth refused all pacifires except one that my mom bought but it was an off brand and we couldn't find it anywhere at all, period. Just great, we litterally had to go 5 months with one pacifire. Ask any parent, that is almost impossible to do. We had to be paci Nazis inorder to keep from losing it, until, my friend stayed at my house and left this kind and a regular nuk paci at my house from her daughter, I figured we would give it a shot with him and he hated the regular one but what do you know, he loved the genius and still loves it. However, now none of the stores in our town carry them, they all took them off the shelf,Walmart, Target, toys r us, babies r us, Burlington.. all of them, so now the only place I can get them is by ordering them. I use Amazon, they have them and I have prime 2 day shipping, I order 2 a month now just so that I know I wont be without.. My son is 7m old and still relies on it to go to sleep, w/o it bed and nap times would be a nightmare!

I love this pacifier (except the price) Which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. It is lighter and doesn't seem to give the binky imprint on his mouth.

Used to buy at Target but they no longer sell it. It is the ONLY style my son will go to sleep with.

Unfortunately, my 2 y.o. still wants a pacifier. Fortunately, we found a larger size one that he likes. I wish the handle wouldnt flip up. I panicked at first and watched him sleep making sure it didnt block his nares and it didnt. He breathes fine, even when it is flipped up onto his nose.
