This would be a perfect transition cup from the bottle. The spout feels like a bottle nipple and has a slow flow. I had to cut a bit into the spout for my 15 month old so the flow was faster, but she really likes it. She can make it leak by pressing the spout on a hard surface, however. That's why I'd definitely recommend this cup for an under 1 child, but not for an older one.

I loved these at first.... But I've gone through ten spouts already, and they all have warped!!We have only been using them for about 3 months. I hand wash all of my baby stuff so this isn't a heat issue it's a quality issue it's the latex. It's so stressful when I'm trying to fix my son something to drink in a rush and it leaks milk all over him! Today they all go in the trash! I'm done with them. We are going to stick with nuby for now on. I own more than ten of these cups. -_- What a waste!

Maybe I got a defective one...? The coloring of the spout on this started to fade as if the coloring was leaking out or being washed away. I only handwashed this for about a month. It started out blue and now it's almost colorless... Not sure why this is happening but it concerns me that my 7 month old is putting her mouth on a part with coloring that fades...

***Update***
I reordered another NUK Learner Cup, this time with the silicone spout and I love that the spout is clear and color free!! No more strange discoloring =]

My daughter was breastfed and hated bottles when I tried to feed her pumped milk or formula. I was nervous that I'd be nursing her exclusively for a year! This cup was the lifesaver! The spout (options are latex or clear silicone) is soft like a bottle nipple which I think is easier for them to get used to versus the hard spout found on toddler sippy cups. She took to this cup instantly and used the handles to feed herself at 5-6 mos. If you are already using Nuk bottles, the spouts are interchangeable with the nipples and the handles snap on/off the bottles as well. You can get away with just buying the replacement spouts and use your own bottles. The only other thing to note is the cup is only 5 ounces, so you might need to transition to a larger cup rather quickly if you have a big eater. It never leaked, especially if you use the disc that covers the bottle mouth when not in use/in diaper bag. The spout flows medium-slow. Fantastic product!!

I have 4 kids, so I've been through a lot of sippee cups. I hate Avent, Playtex, and all the others for one reason or another. Some leak, some fall apart, and some have too many parts... I have found this cup to be the PERFECT cup. Never leaks- not even the spout that is a year old! No extra parts to wash! (For the record I do not like the newer silicone spout... it does not last as long and therefore leaks... so I'm only referring to the latex spouts.)

I have tried many other sippys (Born Free, Dr. Browns, Nibb, etc) my baby didnt lile any of them. All of the handles would swivle and she had trouble getting the nipple in her mouth. She loves this cup and has had great sucess with holding it in place and drinking. She's 7 months and is very happy to be feeding herself. She really seems to like to be in control :)

I bought this for my 5-month old. I washed it as the guide said, then gave it to my daughter with some water. Because she didn't like it (I think she's too young to use the cup), I only used it less than 3 times. Then I noticed that the green color (I got a green one) of the spout began fading. The spout looks yellow now. I used a piece of paper towel to wipe the inside of the spout, the paper towel turned green!!! The color dissolved into the water. I'm lucky that my daughter didn't like it so that she didn't drink a lot of water from it.

On the bottle it shows "made in Germany", but the quality is not as good as other "made in Germany" stuff.

Parents be aware, if you don't want your dear baby drink the unknown dye, don't buy this!!!

I introduced this cup to my 5 months old son, who refused the bottle (he was ok with the bottle at the beginning, but than the break was too long and I couldn't find the right nipple for him). He drinks water and milk with no problems. The nipple is soft and big enough for proper latch.
The cup doesn't leak when the nipple is screwed properly, otherwise it will leak through the ventilation hole.
