We got these because we thought Gerber was generally high quality, and they were cute. While it's not a horrible pacifier, I don't think the unique shape really means anything better for your baby.

One issue with these pacifiers is that they are designed to have a certain orientation (i.e. one side is "up"). This makes it less convenient for placing the pacifier in the child's mouth because you have to make sure it's the right direction--half the time I'm flipping it over and then giving it to him, rather than just giving it to him. This is especially annoying in two cases:
1) He puts the pacifier in his mouth himself, and
2) You're trying to give the pacifier at night in bed or in the car and you have less ability to see what's going on

Since I think the "orthodontics" is pretty much a gimmick, it probably doesn't really matter which way it's oriented, but even for someone like me it's a little distracting to think it's "upside down."

The second issue with these pacifiers is the back is designed with a slit in them so that when you wash them water gets into the nipple and makes a squishing noise afterwards. If you set them on their back for a while they do eventually dry/drain, so it's not a deal-breaker, but it does require extra time before being able to use it again.

Oh yeah, these are a winner.

We just run them thru the dishwasher every now and then
on the sanitizing cycle. Works like a charm.

My daughter likes them. Easy to clean, I like the smooth clear rubber part instead of the brownish-yellowish rubber, like the old types. Cute animal prints.

Got this for a baby shower as well... they're super cute and supposedly orthodontic, meaning good for the baby's developing mouth. Got this cheaper on amazon then i could find anywhere else

These pacifiers are very cute. I do not think it is any better or worse for other brand of pacifier out there. But we do enjoy the design. It is more for parents to have a laugh out of it.

I have twin boys and one loves these and the other does not. They work great, but I would love it if they were one piece.

My son is not a big pacifier fan, but will take this one when he is in the mood. That says quite a bit to be, because he has rejected others completely. However, it leaves a red pressure mark on his face that upsets me, doesnt seem to bother him.

My daughter, 9 months, won't go to sleep until she has the NUK silicone animal faces pacifier (size 2). If I give her any other pacifiers, she would spit it right back out.
As a mother, I just love the fact that she'll sleep 10+ hrs with this pacifier.

Very fast and friendly, however, didn't send the right colors. I know it says "colors may vary" but a pink pacifier for a boy doesn't really sit right with my husband. :o( I haven't returned it yet, and hope that that will be met with as fast and friendly service. I wish it had options for selecting colors.

Buyer beware -- lactation consultants at the hospital told us to throw these away. Likewise, Baby 411 Book says the same thing - do not use these.

The reason is the flat nipple. It teaches the baby to bite down hard on the plastic, which will turn mama's nipple looking like that also.

I own a bunch of these but plan on tossing them all.
